Today marks 61 years since the Voting Rights Act of 1965 was signed into law, finally making it possible for Black women to vote and easier for others to cast a ballot.
For decades, Black voters had to endure literacy tests, poll taxes, and other measures to intentionally keep them away from the polls.
As we honor this landmark legislation, we urge you to take action and reject the SAVE America Act, which is trying to require eligible voters to show proof of citizenship, all but eliminate access to mail-in ballot, and other steps to make it harder for you to vote.
Tap in via bit.ly/NoSAVEAct and reject this Administration’s efforts to undermine your sacred voting power.
