A recent AES Pacific Northwest Section meeting featured an evening with Larry Crane, founder and editor of Tape Op Magazine and owner of Jackpot! Recording Studio in Portland.

Following opening remarks from AES PNW Section Chair Jess Berg, PNW Committee member Erin Shellman moderated a wide-ranging conversation with Crane exploring 30 years of Tape Op, the history of Jackpot!, creative approaches to recording, collaboration in the Pacific Northwest audio community, working with artists, and the gear and ideas that continue to shape his work.

Crane also shared that he’s working on a Tape Op 30th anniversary book — and plans to join us at the AES Show Nashville this October.
