The Philippines, as Chair of the ASEAN New York Committee, hosted ASEAN Family Day 2026 on 15 August in New York. In his opening remarks, Permanent Representative Enrique A. Manalo highlighted the theme of the Philippines’ ASEAN Chairmanship, “Navigating Our Future, Together.” He noted that while ASEAN Missions in New York work closely together and coordinate on issues of common interest at the United Nations, their work also depends on the relationships built outside the meeting rooms.

Ambassador Manalo underscored the strength of ASEAN in the bonds between its peoples being united in diversity through friendship and camaraderie.

ASEAN Family Day provided a valuable opportunity for colleagues and their families to spend time together in a relaxed setting and get to know the wider ASEAN community in New York.
