It’s been a quarter century since the worst terror attack in U.S. history when hijackers crashed airliners into the Twin Towers of the World Trade Center in New York City and the Pentagon in Washington D.C. The Towers collapsed within hours, the world was changed forever, and the New York District of the Army Corps of Engineers ─ assisted by Corps personnel from other Districts ─ embarked on a massive disaster response like no other.
