Most Grateful Monday: Recap of last week:
-- Tues 5/26 10am @ Whitely Farm Cutoff, Peter reports: The pulling was easy for this week’s quartet. The ground softened by days of rain made easy work of clearing the hardened trail’s edges of multiflora rose, garlic mustard, and bittercress. Join us Tuesdays at 10.
-- Wed 5/27 9am @ Carpenter, Michael reports: 4 volunteers slogged out to Carpenter to clear the end of the path to the disc golf area. Fortunately, we quit five minutes early and we were able to get back to the parking lot as the rain started. There are still a few invasive plants left for us to take care of next week. Join us, Wednesdays 9:00 am, Carpenter parking lot.
-- Wed 5/27 4pm @ JME, 2 volunteers from Chemours planted native ginger relocated from the pollinator gardens and then pulled and bagged garlic mustard and narrowleaf bittercress along the creek valley.
-- Thurs 5/28 9am @ JME, 18 of the JME volunteer crew pulled and bagged garlic mustard and narrowleaf bittercress along the creek valley. We are trying to get it pulled and bagged before the seeds disperse and the plants outcompete our native groundcovers. We can use help, no experience necessary, Thursdays 9am, Judge Morris parking lot.
