The first pickup for our Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) program is just a few weeks away, and there's still time to reserve your share.

For 20 weeks, you'll enjoy a variety of fresh, seasonal vegetables grown right here on our farms in Newark and Milford, including tomatoes, peppers, cucumbers, squash, leafy greens, herbs and more.

Best of all, every CSA membership helps support our neighbors in need. Your purchase helps us provide free, fresh produce to Delawareans facing hunger throughout the year.

Congratulations to Food Lion store #1528 in Harrington for earning The Store that Roars Motivational Award on Wednesday, recognizing their work in the community! The Harrington Food Lion team has a regular presence at our Milford facility, and last year they donated 401 hours, making them one of our top 10 volunteer groups in Milford!

As a result of their commitment to helping our neighbors, Food Lion presented us a donation equivalent to 10,000 meals at a surprise ceremony honoring the store! Thank you, Food Lion, for all that you do to fight hunger in our commmunity!

We were honored to have our entire team recognized with the Delaware National Guard’s Community Spirit Award during our quarterly all-staff meeting this morning at our Milford facility.

The award recognizes the collective efforts of our staff to support Delaware National Guard families during last fall’s federal government shutdown. While the award was initially presented in April to Vice President of Human Resources Julie Reichlin and Vice President of External Affairs Chad Robinson at the National Guard’s Senior Leader Conference, Guard leadership made it clear that this recognition belonged to every member of our team.

We were especially grateful to welcome Major Gen. James Benson and Christine Kubik to Milford to present the award in person and celebrate this shared commitment to service.

From the very first Culinary School class at our new Milford facility in 2024 to a leadership role in the kitchen at Dogfish Head’s Chesapeake & Maine, Kyrie “Kay” Villella’s journey has been nothing short of inspiring.

What began as a leap of faith transformed into a life-changing career. Today, Kay celebrates two years in the kitchen in an iconic Rehoboth Beach dining destination, where she’s worked her way up to supporting the sous chef and mastering every station along the way.

A mom of three, Kay balanced family responsibilities, rigorous training, and long hours — all while discovering a passion for cooking and a drive to succeed.

“The thrill of accomplishment” is what keeps her going, and her success is a testament to hard work, resilience, and determination.

Congratulations, Kay — we’re so proud of all you’ve achieved and can’t wait to see what’s next!
