โ€œWe are tired of listening to billionaire CEOs take sole credit for the billions of dollars of profit made off our labor.โ€

In 2021, Michelle Eisen and her co-workers in Buffalo, N.Y., made history by forming the first Starbucks labor union in the United States. Five years later, SBWorkersUnited has grown into a national campaign with nearly 700 unionized stores โ€” and workers are still fighting for their first contract.

In the new documentary *Baristas vs Billionaires* director Mark Mori tells the story of the workers and organizers who built that campaign. On Working People, Maximillian Alvarez talks with Mori and contributing producer Alec Baldwin about the film, the fight at Starbucks and why labor stories like this matter.

๐ŸšจCONTACT YOUR SENATOR BEFORE IT'S TOO LATE๐Ÿšจ

Senate Joint Resolution 39 (SJR 39) severely restricts future revenue growth from property taxes. This means less revenue for local services across the board, permanently.

SJR 39 will degrade services as funding for critical services won't keep up with inflation. All the while, the true driver of sky-rocketing housing costs โ€” home insurance costs โ€” remains unaddressed by lawmakers.

Please contact your Senator now and them to vote NO on SJR 39.
