Introducing Conservation Conversations!
Join Great Works Regional Land Trust and the D.A. Hurd Library for a monthly speaker series exploring conservation topics that affect our region, including forest management, invasive species, wildlife, and more. Designed for everyone, not just nature enthusiasts, these talks will inform, inspire, and connect you more deeply with the world just beyond your doorstep.

Frank Dehler, Maine Master Naturalist, will lead the first in this series on Thursday, September 10th, 6:00 p.m.

While warbler migration in the spring is the avian equivalent of the Met Gala—a cavalcade of flashy colors and sizzling song—fall migration is a subtle and quiet affair to the human observer.

In this program we’ll learn how to identify “confusing” fall warblers, discuss migratory stopover ecology and conservation priorities, and
discover what bird-banding can tell us about the fall migration of wood warblers in New England.

Introducing the newest addition to our children’s room! Stop in and check out our new play kitchen. Open-ended play gives our littlest patrons the chance to tell their first stories, spark their imaginations, and make new friends.

This wonderful addition was made possible through fundraising donations. A heartfelt thank-you to all of our volunteers and visitors who support our plant sale, book sale, and holiday raffle. Your support makes these special additions possible!
