Three... it's the magic number, right?

There are three issues in Augusta that I am especially concerned about and want to be actively involved in addressing.

My top priority is education. As a parent of four children, an active member of our school community, and more recently a member of the school board, I know how important education is and how critical adequate funding is to student success. With Washington making major changes to the Department of Education and shifting more responsibility to the states, it is more important than ever to stay involved and ensure our students have the resources they need.

My second priority is mental health. There is a high-profile trial taking place right now, and it is heartbreaking to hear how the cries for help were handled. It has also brought back memories of my own experiences as I listen to how the family was treated, or in some cases, not treated. Everyone deserves access to the support and care they or their loved ones need. I would be honored to be part of the changes that are needed to improve our mental health system.

And, of course, we are all concerned about taxes. When you hear about someone being "taxed out of their home," they're talking about people like me. When you hear about someone borrowing money just to pay their taxes, that's me too. I understand firsthand how heavy the tax burden is in our community. I will work hard to reduce that burden whenever possible. When state tax dollars are collected, I will fight to ensure that as much of that money as possible comes back to Berwick and North Berwick to support our communities and ease the strain on local taxpayers.

These are just a few of the reasons I want the privilege of serving as your State Representative.

Interested in working on Election Day?

The Town Clerk’s Office is looking for volunteers to help on Tuesday, November 3, as well as a smaller team for Friday, October 30.

No experience is necessary. You’ll be paired with experienced election workers, and training sessions will be offered during both daytime and evening hours.
