🇺🇸 Please plan ahead if you’re traveling through downtown Willimantic this Fourth of July.

Main Street between Jackson Street and Mansfield Avenue will be closed from approximately 9:45 a.m. until 12:30 p.m., or until the Boombox Parade has safely concluded. Please expect increased pedestrian and vehicle traffic throughout the area.

Event Schedule:
• Revolutionary Mile Run – 10:15 a.m.
• Boombox Parade – 11:00 a.m.
• America 250 Celebration at Jillson Square – Gates open at 12:30 p.m.
show starts at 1:00 p.m - 3:30pm

Event coordinators have established the following safety guidelines to help ensure a safe and enjoyable celebration for everyone. We ask all participants and spectators to follow these rules:

• No water spray or Super Soakers
• Candy may be handed out, but not thrown from parade units
• No revving of engines
• No reckless or unsafe behavior
• No civilian drones permitted during the event
• Parade participants must keep moving to maintain the flow of the parade and avoid creating safety hazards

Don’t forget to tune your boombox to WILI 1400 AM or 95.3 FM to enjoy the music along the parade route!

With warm temperatures expected, remember to drink plenty of water, stay hydrated, and look out for one another throughout the day.

The Willimantic Police Department will have plenty of officers working throughout the celebration to help keep everyone safe. If you see something unsafe or need assistance, please let one of our officers know. If you have an emergency or need immediate police, fire, or EMS assistance, call 911.
