Good news — the middle school was NOT on fire. 🔥🚫

Our local first responders were on campus for Lunch With a Hero, and apparently, Friday karaoke got a little TOO LIT! 🎤😂

Huge thank you to our amazing first responders, Oak Grove Police Department and Sni Valley Fire Protection District, for spending time with our students today and helping make it a memorable afternoon at OGMS! 🧡🖤

We're hosting an OGMS Wrestling Interest Meeting during Panther Pride Time to share information about preparing for the upcoming wrestling season. Whether you're brand new to the sport, a returning wrestler, or looking ahead to wrestling at the high school next year, we want to see you there.

Late State Plan

Oak Grove R-VI School District Late Start Plan

Due to the late start schedule, all Oak Grove R-VI schools will begin two hours later than normal.

Transportation
Bus pick-up times will also run two hours later than normal. Buses will make every effort to stay on schedule, but traffic and road conditions may increase travel times.

School Start Times
High School: 9:30 a.m.
Middle School: 9:40 a.m.
Elementary: 10:40 a.m.
Primary: 10:35 a.m.

Building Door Open Times
High School: 9:15 a.m.
Middle School: 9:25 a.m.
Elementary: 10:25 a.m.
Primary: 10:20 a.m.

Dismissal times and afternoon bus transportation will remain on the regular schedule.

At last night’s Middle School Track meet at the K**b Noster Invitational, our boys team earned 2nd place in the team standings, while our girls team battled to a 4th place finish.

Proud of the hard work, grit, and growth these student-athletes continue to show on the track. The future is bright in Panther Nation. 💪🏃‍♂️🏃‍♀️

🚨 Leadership Announcement for Panther Nation 🚨

Big-time news for Oak Grove. We're proud to announce that Tim Johnson, current Director of Pathways at Oak Grove R-VI High School, has been named the next Principal of Oak Grove R-VI Middle School for the 2026–2027 school year.

Mr. Johnson brings a strong background in education and administration, paired with a genuine ability to connect with students and staff. His leadership in our Alternative Learning Program has been about one thing—meeting students where they are and helping them find a path forward. That mindset matters, especially at the middle school level.

Superintendent Mindy Hampton shared,
“Tim brings a student-centered mindset, strong leadership experience, and a passion for meeting students where they are… making him an excellent fit for Oak Grove Middle School.”

Mr. Johnson added,
“Middle school educators bridge childhood and young adulthood, shaping students' futures during their most crazy, funnest, and most formative years of their educational lives.”

🚨 New Record Alert for OGMS Track! 🚨

The Panthers showed up and competed at the Excelsior Springs Middle School Invitational—and one performance is rewriting the record books.

Deklyn Dean delivered a huge throw in the discus, launching it 42.84 meters to take 1st place and set a new meet record. The mark surpasses the previous record of 39.3 meters set in 2025 by Eli Lamell.

That's how you raise the standard. Strong work, Deklyn!
