Yesterday our Development Director, Aaron Wilder, chronicled his day from start to finish to give you a glimpse of a typical day in his role.

Aaron’s last day with Sisu is Friday, and he’ll be dearly missed!

Last night, our team spent the evening with Sisu board member and president of the Ruth Bader Ginsburg Inn of Court, Judge Jason Glidewell. A HUGE thank you to the RBG Inn of Court for raising $2,500 to directly support the young people at Sisu! Your donation will make a major impact on our clients and their journey to stability and independence.

We're beyond thrilled to share that Chat Pile raised over $32,000 to support Sisu at their hometown album release show on Saturday. We're so grateful for their love of community and the way they showed up for our clients!

A huge thank you to all of the bands who came out to support unhoused youth: Portrayal of Guilt, Nightosphere, Traindodge, and Primal Brain (who also donated their guarantee for the show!)

And to our speakers who shared their passion for youth experiencing homelessness in our community: Stewart Harrison (Sisu board member), Julia Witcher (Sisu donor), Jessie Valadez (Arnall Family Foundation).

This incredible night served as a reminder of how powerful we are when we show up for unhoused youth. Thank you, Chat Pile, for this amazing opportunity!

At the end of August, our client "A" graduated from the Manufacturing Skills Academy! This career training program helps young people develop personal and professional skills while pursuing a variety of manufacturing certifications.

"A" has already entered the workforce and is looking forward to moving into housing later this month!

We're endlessly proud of their hard work and know they have a bright future ahead of them 👏

Yesterday, we gathered with Betsy and Travis Roark, their family, and their friends to dedicate Grace's Kitchen at Sisu Youth Services, in loving memory of Grace Roark.

Together, more than 106 donors gave $127,000 to make this space real. Every meal served here will carry Grace's name. We are honored to be stewards of her memory, and grateful to the Roark family for entrusting us with it.

This week, our case managers, shelter staff, and program managers attended Family and Natural Support Training with Heidi Walter from A Way Home Canada.

This training teaches providers how to engage families, chosen families, and community connections to help stabilize young people and divert them from homelessness.

We're so grateful to Heidi for sharing this valuable information and evidence-based practice with our team!
