Clothing Shed Reminder and Library Update:
Please only put acceptable items into clothing shed. Usable clothing, linens, curtains, stuffed pillows, stuffed animals, shoes. Recently we had extremely heavy bags of wet moldy clothes placed in shed- These are NOT acceptable. Remember if it’s hard for you to lift, it’s even harder for us ( as most of us are Senior Citizens going thru the clothes). Clothes Hangers are still needed big time- we keep running out. The Clothing Shed is funded and run by Sterling Public Library, so please remember this community benefit when the town budget is viewed and you look at the library part of the budget. Thank you to our workers and our volunteers who continue to help in our labor of love and commitment to the community. We also have extended our hours and have children’s programs on Tuesdays ( morning) and Thursdays ( afternoon) as well as a Writing class weekly (Thurs afternoon). We have monthly adult craft night and a monthly children’s craft night as well as various programs ( Bats program is this Thursday @6 PM). We even sponsor programs for summer recreation here in Sterling. Please understand that the library does much more than check out books and with that said the book prices have risen considerably in the last year. We have a suggestion box in the library and we’d love to hear any suggestions from you to try to make our library as good as we are able to.
