FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Statement Regarding False Employment Claims of JACKIE LEON HAMBY JR on Social Media

The Lee County Coroner’s Office is aware of misleading information currently being displayed on certain social media profiles indicating that an individual, Mr. Hamby, is employed by or affiliated with the Lee County Coroner’s Office.

Contrary to claims circulating on social media, the individual in question has never been employed by, volunteered with, or had any affiliation with the Lee County Coroner’s Office during Coroner Daniel Sexton’s tenure. Unfortunately, social media platforms offer limited options for correcting inaccurate or misleading employment information shared by individuals on their personal profiles.

Furthermore, a review of public social media activity indicates that Mr. Hamby has been actively campaigning against Coroner Sexton’s reelection for some time.

Coroner Sexton remains dedicated to upholding the highest standards of professionalism, integrity, transparency, and public safety in service to the citizens of Lee County. The office will continue its mission of providing compassionate, professional, and reliable service to the community.

For accurate information regarding personnel or operations of the Lee County Coroner’s Office, members of the public are encouraged to rely on official channels and verified communications from the office directly.
