38 years today. That is how long I have worked for Daybreak Incorporated. From putting together the tables and bed frames at the apartments (now owned by Valley Residential Services) after graduation from UAAs B.S.W. Program, to creating a unique case management program with the assistance of Lifequest aka Mat-Su Health Services and the Division of Behavioral Health, I also have had the privilege to participate in the formation of the CRP/therapeutic court and the Mat-Su Re-entry program to serve individuals involved in the legal system.
We were invited to work with Dr. Amy Murphy to expand the case management program to Anchorage to develop a traumatic injury/mental health care management program. The most recent addition came in 2023 in opening the Palmer Navigation Center to assist individuals who need assistance connecting to resources in our community it continues to be an amazing agency. A huge shout out to Bill Aube and Howard Bess for their guidance and support and belief in my abilities. Thanks to all the staff members I have had the privilege to work with. We have done great work to empower people to meet their recovery goals.
And thank you to the founders and community providers for the collaboration and coordination of services. I am excited to see what the next year brings for the agency and the community!
