United Way of Mat Su

United Way of Mat Su Give. Advocate. Volunteer. LIVE UNITED! Our work focuses around strategies to create opportunities for everyone in our community to live a better life.

For thirty-five years as a force for positive change, we have worked to identify and address our community’s most pressing problems. With the generous support of individuals, corporations, foundations and strategic partners, we are unique and positioned to make a significant and lasting impact. United Way of Mat-Su works to advance the common good in the Mat-Su by focusing on the building blocks f

or a good life: quality education that leads to stable jobs, income to support a family, and good health. We are moving people from poverty to possibility, helping kids be all that they can be, and building strong and healthy communities.

It's 10:21 am and the Alaska State Fair is OPEN!

Do YOU know where your small but mighty UWMS, Thrive Mat Su and Youth360 teams are?

If you guessed the Fair, you'd be correct!

Follow the trail of your choice to the "roundabout" and you'll find us right outside Raven Hall! Stop by for coloring, yard games, bubbles, sidewalk chalk art, music and information on ALL our upcoming events, activities, volunteer opportunities and more.

Very special thanks to our friends at MTA for sponsoring this lovely fall day at the Fair.

You can view the list of all today's events around the fairgrounds HERE:

Hello friends!

We are in need of a few good volunteers for two upcoming events:

On Thursday, September 10, we will be helping to close up Alpine Historical Park in Sutton for the winter. 4-6 volunteers are needed to move displays into storage, do a fall playground and pathway cleanup, and ready the historical buildings for winter.

On Saturday, September 26, Mat-Su VOAD will be at the 2026 Emergency Preparedness Expo! 6-8 volunteers are needed to help us distribute information on disaster and emergency readiness and assist with the event during the day.

Fill out our Volunteer Form and don't forget to check the box by the event you are able to attend!

We need YOU because YOU are United Way of Mat-Su!

We had a blast celebrating the hardworking employees at MTA during today’s Employee Appreciation Day.

These awesome challenge coins are a token of gratitude for the generous contributions made to our annual fundraising campaign by MTA employees.

Whether it’s choosing to support a local nonprofit from the very long list of our Mat-Su friends and partner organizations, or giving directly to UWMS, MTA employees are powering quality Education, amazing Youth Opportunities, strong Financial Independence and good Health and Wellness across the Valley.

Thank you, MTA, for your ongoing support!
