Our hearts are heavy as we stand with our friends at South Davis Metro Fire in mourning the loss of Chief Greg Stewart. .

We lift up his family, and all who had the honor of serving alongside him. They are in our thoughts and prayers during this incredibly difficult time.

A good reminder.

A good reminder.

This mangled piece of metal was an e-scooter with a lithium ion battery. It must have been thrown into a garbage can or dumpster for disposal.

It is hard to tell, but when we found it at the landfill, it had started on fire and been smoldering for who knows how long. This could have been a dangerous situation very quickly at the landfill or in a truck! Luckily our landfill inspectors were able to pull the equipment aside and fully extinguish the fire.

This is a great reminder to dispose of items with rechargeable batteries at the Household Hazardous Waste Facility and not with your garbage or recycling! It is located at 153 N 1400 W, won't cost you anything but a little extra time, and it keeps everyone safe!

🔥 Smash for a Cause at Trout and Berry Days! 🔨

Feeling stressed? Got a little extra rage to burn off? 😤
Come take it out for a good cause and have a blast doing it!

🚒 We're raising money for the Fire Department with a one-of-a-kind event:

💥 DESTROY A CAR 💥
🛠️ $5 for 30 seconds with a sledgehammer or Halligan
🪟 $20 to smash a window (yes, really!)

Whether you're blowing off steam or just want to try something awesome this is your moment.
Smash away stress, support your local firefighters and EMTs, and make some noise at Trout and Berry Days!

Let’s break stuff. For a cause. 💪

Honoring a True Hometown Hero

After 30 years of dedicated service, our beloved Fire Captain, veteran, engineer, EMT, and mentor Dave Bigelow is hanging up his helmet and retiring from the Paradise Fire Department.

He served our country with honor, and then came home and spent the last three decades serving our community with that same unwavering commitment.

From fighting fires to saving lives as an EMT, he holds an impressive list of certifications but more than that, he holds the respect and gratitude of everyone who’s had the privilege to work alongside him.

He’s been the first to volunteer, the last to ask for help, and the kind of leader who quietly shapes others into something better. He’s taught each of us more than a thing or two. He’s raised up our current Chief, Assistant Chief, and all of our Captains leading today.

Now it’s our turn to say thank you.

Please join us this Saturday at the Trout and Berry Day Breakfast as we honor this incredible man. A tribute video will be playing during breakfast, and we’ll present a special gift at the end of the meal. He’ll also be riding on Engine 90 in the parade where he belongs, surrounded by the community he’s protected for so many years

Come out, celebrate, and help us give thanks to a true hometown hero. ❤️🚒🇺🇸

Today, Cache County and Logan City had the solemn honor of welcoming Officer Estrada back home to Logan.

Agencies from across the valley showed up in a way that was nothing short of incredible. I wish the reason for our gathering had been different. I hate the heartbreak that brought us all together but standing united for Officers Estrada and Sorensen was both devastating and deeply beautiful.

It was a moment I’ll never forget.

I only managed to capture a not very great video of half the fire trucks that lined the way, but what I witnessed was more than just vehicles it was a community showing up with love, with respect, and with a shared grief that speaks to the heart of who we are.

My heart is heavy with sorrow, yet overwhelmed with gratitude for the strength and compassion of this valley I’m so proud to be part of.

Our thoughts and prayers remain with these officers, their families, and all who knew and loved them.

We are deeply heartbroken by the tragic events that unfolded in Tremonton last night. The loss of two brave officers in the line of duty is a devastating reminder of the profound sacrifices made by those who serve and protect our communities.

Our sincerest condolences go out to the families, friends, and fellow officers mourning this unimaginable loss. Their courage, dedication, and ultimate sacrifice will never be forgotten.

We also extend our thoughts and prayers to the injured deputy and their K9 partner. We are hoping for their full and swift recovery.

At 10:53 PM on July 4th while most people were winding down from fireworks and BBQ these good lookin’ folks didn’t miss a beat when the pager went off. 🚨

They dropped everything and headed straight to the station without hesitation. I’m seriously honored to serve alongside such dedicated (and somehow always photogenic) responders.

I can’t say enough how lucky I am to volunteer with people like this. 💪👏
