District 207 is honored to share that 45 student musicians from Maine West, Maine East, and Maine South High Schools have earned placement, by competitive audition, into the 2026 Illinois Music Education Association (ILMEA) District 7 All-District Band, Choir, Orchestra, Jazz Band, and Vocal Jazz Ensembles. To earn this distinction, students submitted audition videos that were evaluated and scored by a panel of professional musicians. The top-scoring students from across the region were then selected to perform in the prestigious ILMEA District 7 Festivals.

Mark your calendars! Maine East is hosting a Trunk or Treat next Thursday, October 29 from 4 to 5:30 p.m. in the front parking lot. Nonperishable donation items are appreciated and all proceeds will go to the Maine East Food Pantry.

The District 207 Board of Education honored three students in the area of community service naming them “207’s Best” at a recent meeting. Bilal Usman from Maine East was honored for his advocacy, innovation and empathy.

The Fine Arts Department at Maine East High School invites local 4th through 8th grade students to explore their creativity at the upcoming Encore Explorers: Imagination Palette & Performance workshop. The half-day event takes place on Saturday, October 17, 2026, from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Maine East High School.

Designed to spark imagination and build confidence across various artistic disciplines, attendees can customize their morning by choosing four hands-on workshops in theatre, music, broadcasting, and visual arts among the six choices.

Maine East Fine Arts invites you to join them for their fall play, They Promised Her the Moon! Performances will take place on Thursday, October 1 at 4 p.m., and Friday, October 2 and Saturday, October 3 at 7 p.m. in the Maine East High School Auditorium.
