Please join us in recognizing the years of hard work and dedicated service of K9 Nodi and wishing him a long and happy retirement. K9 Nodi has been with the Pearland Police Department since 2016 and during that time he seized $850,000.00 worth of narcotics and apprehended 27 suspects. Nodi loves his work, but vision issues mean he's trading in his badge for a cozy bed and days of playing in the yard and relaxing at home. Thank you Nodi, we wish you the very best!

In 1962, President Kennedy proclaimed May 15 as National Peace Officers Memorial Day and the calendar week in which May 15 falls, as National Police Week. Established by a joint resolution of Congress in 1962, National Police Week pays special recognition to those law enforcement officers who have lost their lives in the line of duty for the safety and protection of others.

This week the Pearland Police Department officers will be wearing mourning badges covers to honor those dedicated men and women who have made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our communities. Additionally, the Pearland Police Department will pause to remember the three officers killed in the line of duty serving the citizens of Pearland.

Today, May 5th, 2021, at approximately 1011hr Pearland Police Officers arrested two suspects for their involvement in catalytic converter thefts on the west side of Pearland.

As a reminder, the Pearland Police Department has recently seen an increase in the number of reported catalytic converter thefts.

Tips to help combat thefts and assist Police.

• Park vehicles in well-lit areas, secured areas, or in area where the vehicles may be more visible to passing traffic
• Check vehicles daily and notify police if there is an issue. This can help narrow down timeframes and patterns.
• If you have surveillance video, review daily for suspicious persons or vehicles on your premises. Even if a crime has not occurred, notify police of this activity. Vehicle descriptions give police something to look for when patrolling.
• Consider security devices to protect catalytic converters making them more difficult to steal

Call the Pearland Police Department non-emergency line 281-997-4100 to report incidents or suspicious activity.

Please join the Pearland Police Department in congratulating Hugh Blake on his retirement. Mr. Blake has been with Pearland Animal Services for over 10 years. His extensive knowledge and calm demeanor have proven themselves invaluable to Animal Services and the city of Pearland. Mr. Blake’s ability to recall details from “calls for service” throughout the years is uncanny. His approachability has made him the go-to person for both staff and the public. Mr. Blake will be missed for his sense of humor around the office. We are excited for him and his family to take on the next part of his life. We are incredibly grateful for his service.

I have noticed on many occasions a homeless man making himself comfortable behind the strip center of Kroger at 288. He sits by the lake between the trees eats, smokes, and throws all his garbage all over the lake. My dog is always on guard. Even though he is friendly maybe an alternative location would be better? Can someone come help him?

Sam Snow Medical Fundraiser! Oasis Salon & MediSpa has partnered up with a few vendors to give back. Stop by on Thursday, April 22 from 11:00 am -2:00 pm and grab a bite from Outriggers Taco Truck. If you have a business and are interested in setting up a table please contact Oasis Salon at [phone redacted]. Outriggers Menu: www.SchafersCoastalBarAndGrille.com Millie Smith Slavik is organizing this fundraiser on behalf of Kimberly Roach. Sam Snow, a loving husband, and father, was involved in a hit-and-run accident on March 3rd in Pearland TX. Sam had the right of way at an intersection but when he saw the driver of the pickup truck was not yielding, he swerved trying to avoid a collision. Unfortunately, Sam’s motorcycle slammed into the side of the truck causing his right leg to be crushed. The driver did not stop to assist.
Hughes Ranch Road appears to cross over SH288 and become Discovery Bay Drive. It was apparently purposed to give access to the SH 288 HOV lanes and maybe a crossover of SH288. I haven't been able to determine this because the intersection is elevated above SH 288, and I'm not that tall, but can a vehicle just cross over from Discovery to Hughes (or the opposite direction)without being shoveled onto the HOV lane? The Google satellite was taken back when it was being built and appears to be a crossover, but I don't want to trust it and find myself trapped on the HOV lane. Thank you.
Hi I just wanted to know if the gentleman that got hit by a vehicle today was alright..it happened on Pearland parkway/ Broadway.. around 3:40pm
Twas the night before Christmas, and all through the streets, not a person was stirring, 'cept an officer on the beat. As he quietly patrolled the town with great care, ...children and parents slept peacefully there. The officer was clad in his blues and his vest, gun on his hip, always looking his best. He'd just pulled aside for a quick bite to eat, When all of a sudden, out on the street, A bright light appeared from out of nowhere, He shielded his eyes from the brilliant glare. 'Twas an angel of the Lord at the squad's rear, He smiled and spoke, "Dear Officer, don't fear." "I've been sent by God with a message for you who faithfully serve while wearing the blue. He wants you to know He loves you all, He's pleased with the way you've answered His call. "To protect and serve others, so selfless you've been, Your bravery and kindness have known no end. Even in tragedy, when nights became long, You've helped countless strangers by being strong. "God sees your heart, the joy and the pain, He knows the profession can often bring strain. So he sent me here to let you know, That as you patrol, He goes where you go. "As you protect others, your Father protects you, His angels go with you, His Spirit does, too. No bullet too fast, no bad guy too strong, I'm sent to make sure that your life will be long. "So fear not the night, and fear not the day, fear not the threats that might come your way. I'm sent to accompany you on your beat, There's not one moment you're alone on the street." The officer sat stunned by the love of His God, He bowed his head, with a tear gave a nod. As the officer said thank you, the angel took flight, "God's got your back, carry on, and goodnight." --Author unknown
I want to thank all of you. I was found unconscious on my floor this week in 2011 and it took a lot of officers and fire fighters to get me to the hospital. Without ya'll I would not be here. Thank you
Good Morning! I wanted to give a SHOUT OUT to the officers at your agency for operating the traffic lights at Cullen and Hawk in the mornings. This has alleviated traffic immensely and saves us a ton of time in line to get to Dawson High School. Thank you for what you do each and every day! You are appreciated.
