The Little Library on Maiden still has a good assortment of school themed books to help prepare your family with the often rocky transition from summer to new school year. 😎

We want to thank our recent visitor that donated several back to school picture books to put into the hands of excited/anxious little ones. We always appreciate the help in keeping the little library full of good gently used books to share. Happy reading! 📚🍎

“The Little Read Hen” little free library & egg stand with “The Little Fed Hen” free pantry in Burke, NY was our 960th chartered little free library! We really love these combination roadside stands & little libraries that we have been visiting. Both the little library and pantry were well stocked. We would have happily bought some of their fresh eggs but unfortunately it was a warm day & we were not headed right home. We could hear the free range chickens nearby but none of the ladies came out to visit us while we were there. 🐓🥚📚

Sneak peek. It is that time of year to swap out the summer theme kids books with back to school and friendship themes. We probably should have started this earlier but we have been busy holding on tightly to summer. 😎

We will be refreshing the Little Library on Maiden once we get the books all wiped down, stamped and ready to go. We may get a chance to post some preview photos of the books gathered but then again maybe not because we still have some more summering to do. 🌻

The Norwich Bookstore in Norwich, VT is one of our favorite stops on the Vermont Indie Bookstore tour. We visited it for the first time last year on Indie Bookstore Day and it was packed!! Although the staff handled the crowded store like pros we enjoyed our return this week to leisurely browse the store on a much calmer day. Happy 32 years in business! 🎂📚🎉
