Peru Free Library - Peru, NY Local library that serves the residents of Peru, NY. Books, magazines, music CD's, DVD's, audio books, and e-books are available for circulation.

Our bright and welcoming Children's Room offers a large children's collection. The library is a member of the Clinton, Essex, Franklin Library System and provides an extensive interlibrary loan service. Six high speed internet computers are available for public use, as well as free WiFi. Our library is known as "The Green Library" as all our electricity comes from the sun, from solar panels on our roof. Our backyard is planted with both a community flower and vegetable garden.

WOW! We are blown away by the generosity of our book sale shoppers. They donated just over $2,500 in the 8 days the sale ran. The sale wouldn't be possible without our volunteers who sorted books, brought them up from the basement and ran the sale. THANK YOU SO MUCH! Thank you the 1st grade teacher's at Peru for bringing their classes to the library last week and today. They took a tour of the library, had a story read to them and then had time to explore in the kids' room.

School is almost out. But it's not too early to think about summer reading. The reading challenge starts June 30 and ends August 15. Stop by the library to sign up for the challenge and pick up your reading log book. We have three categories: Grades PreK-2, 3-5, and 6-12. Everyone who participates has a chance to win a prize! We will be at the Peru Town Market on Sunday, June 28 from 10-2 to kick off our programs and challenge.
