Covenant House PA

Covenant House PA Serving Pennsylvania youth who have runaway, are experiencing homelessness, and/or trafficking for 25 years.

Covenant House Pennsylvania is much more than a shelter. We provide an array of services for homeless young people, including a first-class medical clinic, full time staff to assist with educational and vocational needs, and around the clock one-on-one support to help our young people plan, stay on track, and achieve their goals. We also provide housing for longer periods to give our kids ample ti

me to find work, learn important skills, and save money - giving them the best possible chance of achieving independence. With the vital work that we do, it's hard to believe that we operate almost entirely on private donations - more than 90% to be exact. Your generosity and support isn't only welcome, but needed. If you would like to make a gift, please reach out to our Development team at [email protected] or call (215) 302-7506.

Philadelphia, look up tonight. 💙💛🤍

For the last three evenings, One Liberty Place and Symphony House have shined in blue, yellow, and white to celebrate Covenant House PA's 25th Anniversary. Tonight is your last chance to see it.

For 25 years, Covenant House PA has been opening doors, offering shelter, and walking alongside youth ages 18-24 who have nowhere else to turn.

Seeing our city's skyline light up in our colors is a powerful reminder that Philadelphia stands with its young people.

As we celebrate this milestone, we hope you'll join us in building what comes next. Visit our Building Bridges to Hope Campaign and help ensure that every young person has a place to call home: www.covenanthouseevents.org/PA25th

At 18, Nicole was homeless, alone, and unsure what came next.

Then she walked into Covenant House PA.

What she found was more than shelter. She found stability, community, unconditional love and adults who believed in her future when she struggled to believe in it herself.

Today, she holds a bachelor's degree in public health from an Ivy League school, a master's degree in palliative care, and works at the University of Pennsylvania. She returned to Kensington to serve the same community she was once part of.

Nicole says: "There is a young person tonight who will find themselves alone and unsheltered for the first time. Because of supporters like you, they may also find the safety and support of Covenant House PA."

Her story is one of more than 57,000 young people served by Covenant House PA over the past 25 years.

Watch her story. Then help us ensure the next young person finds hope, too. Join us: www.covenanthouseevents.org/PA25th

Survivor voices must lead the way.

On June 2, survivors, advocates, service providers, and legislative partners gathered at the Pennsylvania State Capitol for the Pennsylvania Anti-Human Trafficking Advocacy Work Group's Survivor-Led Advocacy Day.

From a press conference in the Capitol Rotunda to meetings with legislators, the day focused on advancing survivor-centered policies and ensuring lived experience remains at the heart of anti-trafficking efforts.

Proud to stand alongside partners across Pennsylvania working toward a future free from human trafficking.

Yesterday, the City of Philadelphia Government recognized Covenant House PA for 25 years of service to young people experiencing homelessness. Thank you to Councilmember Kendra Brooks, Councilmember Cindy Bass, and Councilmember At-Large Nina Ahmad for leading this recognition and helping elevate the urgent issue of youth homelessness.

Over the past 25 years, over 57,000 young people have turned to us for shelter, healthcare, housing, education, workforce development, and the support needed to build brighter futures. This recognition belongs to the young people who trusted us, the staff who showed up, and the community of supporters who made this work possible.

As we celebrate this milestone, we remain focused on the future. Because every young person deserves a safe place to sleep—and the opportunity to thrive.

To mark our 25th Anniversary, a ‘Champion for Youth’ has made a $250,000 challenge gift to fuel our simple, but bold belief:

EVERY young person deserves a safe place to sleep.

Now they have invited all of us to rise to the moment: a Champion for Youth gave $250,000 to start. Can we raise $1.5 million to finish?

The need is urgent. During the 2023-2024 school year, 10,705 children and youth in Philadelphia were identified as experiencing homelessness—an 86% increase over the past five years.

Watch Alexia, our CEO, share why this moment matters—and how together, we can help bring every young person inside.

Join us in celebrating Justin Romain, one of just seven students awarded a scholarship by the South Philadelphia Lions Club, as he continues following his dreams! 🎉

Justin is pursuing a degree in Cybersecurity at the Community College of Philadelphia, driven by a desire to protect others in an increasingly digital world. Despite facing personal challenges and displacement from home, he remains focused on building a future rooted in purpose and opportunity.

During his time at Covenant House PA, Justin was voted Resident of the Month for his kindness, resilience, and determination to succeed. Now, he is incredibly close to achieving another major milestone: finding a place of his own and stepping into a new chapter of stability and independence.

A special thank you to our Young Professionals Associate Board Member, South Philadelphia Lions Club President, and longtime supporter Michael A Giangiordano II for helping make this opportunity possible and investing in Justin’s future.

Huge thanks to the Meiji Stauffers Community Involvement Team for showing up for the youth at our York Sanctuary Program in such a meaningful way.

Led by Sabrina Murphy, the team not only donated backpacks and cookies for our residents, but also rolled up their sleeves to clean, repair, and beautify our courtyard, even donating supplies to help transform the space.

Because of their kindness and care, our youth now have an outdoor space where they can feel welcomed, appreciated, and at home. 💙
