Save the date for our biggest Trick or Treat Trail yet!

Filled with activities like pumpkin painting, tree giveaways, music, lots of candy, and more, this FREE event is sure to be even bigger than last year 🎃

Get ready for Halloween by learning the Thriller dance for FREE! Dance lessons meet at Cobbs Creek Community Environmental Center every Thursday 530-730pm from September 24th to October 22nd

Help us prepare for this years Trick or Treat Trail & Harvest Fest by donating candy. All candy donations will be given out on our free Trick or Treat Trail on Saturday, October 24th.

Donations can be brought directly to Cobbs Creek Community Environmental Center at 700 Cobbs Creek Parkway.

Wacky find! While picking tomatoes from our orchard, we stumbled upon this little miracle - a monarch chrysalis! A monarch caterpillar chose this little cherry tomato as a good place to perform its metamorphosis.

Since we accidentally picked the tomato before we noticed, we decided to bring the whole thing inside for safekeeping (since chrysalises need to be suspended off the ground).

Over the next 1-2 weeks, this former caterpillar will transform within this chrysalis, emerging as an adult monarch butterfly!

What a haul! Thanks to everyone who showed out yesterday to our Wineberry Wednesday foraging sessions!

We met at both 10am and 530pm and learned how to identify wineberries, their impact on native ecosystems, and how to forage safely. We picked *pounds* of berries, which will not only fill our bellies, but will slow the spread of these plants in our forests by limiting the seeds that will sprout next year.

Didn't make it? There's still plenty of wineberries out on the trails and along the bike path in Cobbs! While wineberries are pretty easy to recognize, remember to NEVER forage anything if you're not 100% sure about what it is. Feel free to stop into the center, give us a call, or send us pictures to help with identification :)
