As we concluded the final City Council session before our summer recess, I want to thank my colleagues, staff, and the residents of Philadelphia for their engagement throughout a productive legislative season.

While Council may be adjourned, the work doesn’t stop. My office will continue serving constituents, attending community events, addressing neighborhood concerns, and fighting for families across our city.

Have a safe and enjoyable summer, Philadelphia!

I support investing in our city, our schools, and our future—but we must do it responsibly. The people of Philadelphia cannot always be asked to pay more while they’re already doing everything they can to get by.

Today, I was proud to join Mayor Cherelle L. Parker, Councilmembers Lozada and Squilla, and community leaders for the ribbon-cutting and open house of the Kensington Wellness Support Center.

Every Philadelphian deserves access to the support, resources, and opportunities needed to move forward. This new center reflects our shared commitment to meeting people where they are and investing in stronger, healthier neighborhoods.

I look forward to seeing the positive impact the Kensington Wellness Support Center will have on the Kensington community and our city for years to come.

Today, we honor the courage, sacrifice, and selflessness of the heroes who stormed the beaches of Normandy on D-Day.

Their bravery changed the course of history and secured the freedoms we cherish today. We remember those who gave everything and remain forever grateful for their service.

May we never forget that freedom is never free.
