Saturday October 10th is the 6th Annual Wingohocking Neighbor’s Day!! This event started with a prayer circle in response to gun violence on my block, and I’m incredibly proud of how it has grown over the years. This year’s theme is “We Got Us,” and it’s a celebration of all the ways that we look out for one another. The day will feature live music, dance performances, a variety of food trucks, a play street for kids, and resources from dozens of community partners.

Stay tuned for updates throughout the week. We’ll be showcasing some of our amazing community partners and performers!🥳

A great day in Philadelphia City Council ! Today I continued my support for Philly Black Worker Project with a resolution honoring the legacy of Black labor in Philadelphia. I also met with unionized Starbucks workers who are calling for a Starbucks boycott and stronger protections for Starbucks employees.

Today was eventful. I joined colleagues and community to take a stand against incinerating Philly’s trash in Chester, then stopped by “Coffee and Council,” hosted by Working Families Power. I kicked off session by introducing resolutions honoring National Arts Education Week & HMBL Zayy.

Thank you to everyone who has reached out with concern about my safety after today’s evacuation of City Hall. My team and I are safe and awaiting further details about what prompted the evacuation.

Happy National Arts Education Week!🎨 We kicked off the week last night with students and educators from across the city and got a chance to see their artwork on display on the 3rd, 4th, and 5th floors of City Hall. I look forward to introducing a resolution this Thursday, recognizing the great work of art educators, student artists, and Creative Philadelphia!✨
