Have you ever thought about airplanes that don’t need an airport?

This week, I headed over to the The Port of Philadelphia to check out some amazing new tech in aviation! Electra.aero flight is introducing a hybrid-electric aircraft that can take off and land in less than 150 feet. Imagine hopping on a passenger plane that’s not only budget-friendly but also gets you to various spots in the region without needing an airport! Plus, it’s a huge win for the environment with lower carbon emissions. The future of aviation is truly unfolding right here in Philly!

So, would you be up for a trip on one of these innovative planes?

What was your first library? 📚

For me, it was the South Philly Library, which I’m pretty sure my mom still has my library card somewhere. 😂

Earlier this week, Representative Fiedler and I had the honor of presenting the South Philly Library staff with a citation recognizing the vital role they play in our community.

A first-of-its-kind facility, the South Philadelphia Health and Literacy Center opened in 2016, across the street from where I visited when I was a kid, combining a library, CHOP, city health center, recreation center, and playground.

It was an honor to meet the entire staff and personally say THANK YOU for everything you do for our community! 👏🏾

The headline in the The Philadelphia Inquirer read: “This corner store has the best chicken sandwich in Philly, but we don’t quite know what it’s called.”

Growing up in this neighborhood my whole life, I know exactly where they’re talking about. 😂

I never knew the official name either (I’ve always called it Miss Lee’s), but one thing I’ve known, they really have THE BEST chicken sandwich in the city! 🍗🔥

Come Dine my District with me and taste the legendary chicken sandwich in Point Breeze! 👀😋 S/O Mike Schulte - Explore The World w/ Me for coming along!

Congratulations to my friends over at The Wardrobe for the success of the returning wardrobe program.

More than 10,000 appointments have been made since they secured a $200,000 state grant to provide professional clothing to help men and women return to work after being released from prison.

Visit WardrobePA.org to learn more about them. 👔👚👏🏾💪🏾

The feedback is in, and it’s very clear! Our Grants Workshop was a remarkable success, attracting hundreds of individuals from our district and beyond to learn about grants in Pennsylvania and how to apply for them. It’s essential that access to information on state resources is available to everyone, and we’re committed to sharing such valuable information.

A heartfelt thank you to our panelists for generously sharing their expertise and guiding attendees through the grant process.

I hope everyone not only gained new insights but also had the opportunity to connect and network with fellow community members. Stay tuned for updates on our next event—exciting things are on the horizon! 🙏🏾💪🏾👏🏾🙌🏾

A mural tells a story, represents community, and is a piece of history.

This new Black Dance Legacy Mural in Grays Ferry honors generations of Black dancers and educators who shaped Philadelphia’s cultural identity through their art.

The Mural Arts Philadelphia programs in this city are so important for telling our stories, preserving our history, and we will continue to support them at the state level.

Thank you to the dancers and educators past and present, city officials, volunteers, and community members who made this event possible! 🎨

Justice reform is not complete until we have justice for the victims as well. 🗣️

Every unsolved case represents a family still waiting, which is why the new VICTIM Program invests $2.5 million to give law enforcement the tools to solve homicides, violent crimes, and cold cases.

Thanks to , Philadelphia Delegation, the city officials, and the families of the victims for sharing their experiences, as well as Arnold Ventures for announcing a $1 million grant for the PCCD to use in communities across the state.

This investment supports the investigators working to solve these cases and the victims and families who have waited far too long for answers. 🙏🏾
