The Abington Township Fire Department (ATFD) is an all-volunteer force comprised of five fire companies all operating within Abington Township.

The five companies that form the ATFD are Abington, McKinley, Weldon, Edge Hill and Roslyn. The members of the ATFD value teamwork, competence, respect and a commitment to excellence that demonstrates itself through consistent professionalism, pride and a positive attitude. The department’s vision is that the ATFD will continue to be recognized by its citizens as five professional, well-trained, c

ommunity-centered volunteer companies, unified as one fire department, which places a high premium on excellent service.

The Abington Township Fire Department is proud to launch our 3rd Annual Breast Cancer T-shirt Sale in support of the Breathing Room Foundation, an organization dedicated to helping local families affected by cancer. The online store will be open from August 10th to September 20th, so make sure to get your orders in!

Every shirt purchased helps support an incredible cause while raising awareness in the fight against breast cancer. This year's design is available in 10 sizes, including regular and tall options. We are accepting online orders only, and all orders can be picked up at your local fire station during Fire Prevention Week October 5 - October 9.

A huge thank you to everyone who joined us for the 26th Annual Pre-Night Out! We had an incredible time meeting with residents, answering questions, giving tours of our fire trucks, and sharing important fire safety information.

Events like these are a great reminder of the strong connection between our fire department and the community we proudly serve. We truly enjoyed spending time with all of you, especially the children who were excited to explore the trucks and learn about fire safety.

Thank you for making this year's event such a success. We look forward to seeing everyone again next year.

Last night, the Abington Township Fire Department held our May township-wide training, bringing together members from all five fire companies for a hands-on night of skill-building. Crews practiced forcible entry before advancing hose lines up a flight up stairs to reach a fire, along with search and rescue operations, pump operations and aerial operations.

Training like this helps to ensure our firefighters are ready to operate safely and effectively when the community needs us most.

On Tuesday morning, 3rd graders from Highland Elementary visited the Abington Fire Company for a fun educational experience! The students learned important fire safety tips, including how to stay low in smoke, the importance of knowing their home address, plus how to stop, drop and roll. It was a great visit with lots of thoughtful questions and hands-on learning to help keep our community safe! 👏🧯
