This week, on July 25, 2026, SAJEM Spokesman Abdi Mohamud (Abdi Muda), along with Hamadi M. Muya and Amina Shale had the honor of attending the Umoja Wa Wazigua of North America (UWONA) National Conference in Louisville, KY, an event dedicated to strengthening community dialogue, civic engagement, entrepreneurship, and philanthropic initiatives across the United States and Somalia.

The conference featured powerful panel discussions focused on unity, empowerment, youth development, cultural awareness, preservation, and a wide range of social issues that shape the Somali Bantu community. The conversations were thoughtful, forward‑looking, and rooted in a shared commitment to progress.

UWONA leadership, Chairman Hassan and his dedicated team demonstrated exceptional organization, vision, and community stewardship throughout the event. Their efforts reflect the strength and resilience of the Somali Bantu community both at home and abroad.

It was a privilege for SAJEM to participate in this historic gathering and to share insights on Somali Bantu affairs in the United States and Somalia. Moments like these remind us of the power of collaboration and the importance of investing in our communities for a brighter future.

SAJEM Celebrates the 250th Anniversary of the United States Independence

The Somali Advocacy for Justice and Equality Movement (SAJEM) proudly joins the American people in celebrating the 250th Anniversary of the United States Independence.
On this historic Fourth of July, we honor the enduring values upon which this great nation was founded liberty, justice, equality, democracy, and the rule of law. These principles continue to inspire people around the world who strive for freedom, human dignity, and equal opportunity.

As an organization dedicated to justice, equality, and human rights for all Somalis, SAJEM expresses its sincere gratitude to the United States for its longstanding commitment to democratic values and the protection of fundamental freedoms.

We extend our warmest congratulations to the American people on this remarkable milestone and wish the United States continued peace, prosperity, and strength for generations to come.
