On this day in 1919, the 19th Amendment—which prohibits any US citizen from being denied the right to vote based on sex—was passed by Congress. It would be ratified more than a year later on August 18, 1920.

107 years later, the Arizona Secretary of State’s office is dedicated to ensuring voting is accessible to every eligible voter in the state.

PRESS RELEASE: “Legally futile”: Arizona Secretary of State responds to DOJ’s appeal request to access the private personal information of Arizona’s voters

Arizona taxpayers are footing the bill on both ends of this fight and, as the court stated, this is “legally futile.”

As long as I am Arizona’s Secretary of State, I will continue to refuse any illegal requests for your private voter data and fight to protect your privacy. I will not be deterred from protecting Arizona’s voters because of political threats.
