Thank you to everyone who helped bring our County’s first Warming Center to life. From the Clinton County Department of Social Services, Evergreen Town House Community, NAMI Champlain Valley, and MHAB Properties, to the Plattsburgh Police Department who collected items on our behalf — your partnership made all the difference.

Thank you to the service groups who donated essentials for individuals in need, to Elmore SPCA for stepping in during pet-related challenges, and to St. Joseph’s Outreach and Trinity Church for providing Community Meals. And to the countless community members who donated meals, supplies, and small comforts that offered a sense of normalcy during what may have been the hardest moments of someone’s life — your compassion mattered.

You made this possible. You made it successful.

This will be our final week of operation for the Warming Center.
We are deeply grateful to everyone who supported us this season — our guests, volunteers, and community partners. If you or someone you know is in need of a warm, safe place, please reach out during our final week by calling After Hours Housing on Code Blue evenings (32°F or below) at 518‑420‑8864.
As temperatures rise, please know that housing solutions and important conversations around long‑term opportunities continue for individuals experiencing homelessness or housing insecurity.
Thank you for helping us care for our community. 💙
Please share this post to help spread the word.

As winter begins to wind down, we are seeing fewer Code Blue (under 32°) days. Our Warming Center (Cold Weather Relief) operates under New York State Code Blue protocol, which means the shelter will only be open on Code Blue nights.

On nights that are not Code Blue, the warming shelter will not be operating.

Anyone experiencing a housing crisis is encouraged to visit the local Department of Social Services during daytime hours to address immediate housing needs and explore available resources.

Thank you to our community for your continued support throughout the winter season.

Yet, the chill can certainly depart at any time.

The community has been so generous with donations, and we are incredibly grateful for the support.
At this time, we ask that you please watch our page for specific donation requests. Due to limited space, staffing capacity, and the demands of operating overnight direct services, we are not always able to manage daily donation drop-offs.
Please also note that while we are located on the MHAB campus, we are a separate entity. MHAB Property Management is not able to answer questions regarding the warming center.
We truly appreciate your understanding and continued support.

We always want to recognize our neighbors who go above and beyond for our Warming Center guests.
A very special thank‑you to the Rouses Point–Champlain Kiwanis Club, who graciously prepare these care bags filled with hygiene products, towels, blankets, and winter gear for individuals in our community.
Their generosity reminds us that we truly live in a warm place — even when the temperatures are in the single digits. ❤️❄️
