Yesterday at the Community Synagogue of Rye, I discussed the services and culturally enriching programs SPRYE offers older adults in Harrison, Port Chester, Rye, and Rye Brook to the SAJE group. (Senior Active in a Jewish Environment).

The group's coordinator, Brenda Wilkien, organizes speakers and a book club for the participants.

Former SPRYE Board member Ron Cohen and his wife, Joan, were recently honored with the Ron and Joan Cohen Service Award at a benefit held at the synagogue.

The Cohens are pictured with Rabbi Gropper, who was decked out in the gay 1920s theme dress for the event.
