We got lucky! We were able to secure Saleam, a Portland-based artist, for our Otesha space. The artwork really beautifies the corner of Albert and 15th. Saleam has a couple of murals along Alberta St. and a couple of other parts of the city. Can you spot all of Saleam's artworks around the city?

We'd also like to thank Regional Arts & Culture Council for making this happen. With their grant support we were able to stay true to our values and support our community in their endeavors.

On Indigenous Peoples’ Day, Winona LaDuke’s reminder feels especially relevant: relationship with the land is a responsibility, not a resource strategy. It’s reciprocity, restraint, and long‑arc care.

At Sabin CDC, this aligns with the Sabin Way — dignity, clarity, belonging, stewardship, and shared leadership. Our work in housing, workforce pathways, and community stewardship is rooted in the understanding that land is a living inheritance of the community we serve. The choices we make today must strengthen that inheritance for the people who will carry it forward - our future selves.

For our industry, the question is simple and demanding:
Are our materials, systems, and decisions honoring the land and supporting future generations?

This is stewardship and care made visible💕

Feeling honored to be nominated for the DJC Oregon Women of Vision recognition.

I believe I’m the only provider of culturally specific Affordable Housing in this year’s cohort, and I hold that with devotion — devotion to the sector and to the collaborative peers who make this work possible. Our field is built on dignity, clarity, belonging, and long‑arc stewardship. We design stability. We steward community. And we do it together.

Sabin’s work is built across the full continuum of the built environment — development, construction, property management, and resident services — all rooted in culturally specific community leadership. My focus is on strengthening the future leadership of Affordable Housing through systems, clarity, and shared practices that support the next generation.

I’m excited to celebrate with our Board, our team, and the visionary women shaping Oregon’s built environment. This honor reflects shared leadership and the collective care that strengthens our communities.

The 2026 Oregon Serves Team Transition and the incoming 2027 Team - collaboration and capacity hangs in the air 🌱

Our street mural outside the Isaka Shamsud-Din apartments at 14th Place & Killingsworth is officially finished!

Big shoutout to Sumiya Coleman for the amazing design and for bringing this whole vision to life. We’re so grateful for the time, creativity, and love you put into it. As well as who makes it easy and accessible for people to come together and add a little bit of art back into our neighborhoods.

And thank you to everyone who came out, picked up a brush, and helped us paint. This mural really came together because of the community. ❤️

We’re proud to have this piece right here in the neighborhood. Come by and check it out! 🎨
