Portland Senior Center Welcome to the Portland Senior Center! Chartered in 1974, Portland Senior Citizens Inc. Numerous special programs are offered on a regular basis.

We provide a safe, welcoming environment for area senior citizens to congregate and participate in fellowship, food, travel, education and social activities. The 1st ever Portland Hot Dog Eating Contest will happen at 6:15pm during the Fireworks in the Park.

Allen observed that the Tennessee State flag had been hanging incorrectly in the Senior Center today. After Googling this, it was discovered that the flag had also been seen hanging upside down over the State Capitol and is a common mistake .
So, Allen corrected this and now the flag is hanging correctly !
Thanks to Allen for the lesson on how to hang our state flag .
