Who We Serve: HAVEN serves 48 cities and towns in Southeastern New Hampshire. Support services are available to anyone affected by domestic and sexual violence and stalking regardless of gender, age, health status, physical, mental or emotional ability, se
xual orientation, gender identity/expression, socioeconomic status, race, nationality, immigration status, religious and political affiliation.
24-Hour Confidential Hotline: 1-603-994-SAFE (7233)
24-hour hotline for victims and survivors, their families and others affected by domestic violence, sexual assault and stalking. Advocate Accompaniments: Advocate accompaniments for victims and survivors to area hospitals, police stations, Child Advocacy Centers and local courts. Emergency Shelter: Please call the 24-hour hotline to speak with an advocate about shelter assistance. The shelter program provides short-term emergency shelter for women and their children fleeing violent living situations. Safety Planning and Protective Orders: Information and options to enhance safety as well as information on emergency, temporary and permanent restraining orders. Referral Network: Referrals to other community resources as well as to local therapist specializing in trauma. Support Groups: On-going support groups designed for adult victims and others affected by domestic and sexual violence including Trauma Sensitive Yoga. Violence Prevention Education: The Safe Kids Strong Teens prevention education program of HAVEN is presented in classrooms throughout Southeastern New Hampshire. Our team of educators present an age appropriate, interactive curriculum with the goal to prevent child sexual abuse, sexual harassment, bullying and teen dating violence. When evaluating the education program and its impact on students, it has historically produced promising results. Community Outreach: Invite HAVEN to talk to your group, business, faith community, class or club. Presentations and workshops are available covering topics such as:
- An overview of HAVEN services and mission
- Domestic and sexual violence
- Sexual harassment
HAVEN also attends health and wellness fairs, community wide events and volunteer fairs/open houses. Volunteer: Volunteers are integral to our agency and are utilized in all aspects of our organization. HAVEN recruits volunteers for the following roles and activities:
