The Community Food Connection Open Every Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm. Zip codes serviced - 92064, 92127, 92128,92129,92131. We do not turn anyone away.

The Community Food Connection is a vital program for needy families in our local community. Through the generous donations of businesses and individuals, we are able to provide food to families who are being impacted by the current economic crunch. Presently there are many parents in our area who are finding it difficult to provide adequate food for their families. Many youth in our area do not ha

ve adequate nutritional support to help them do well in school. To add to this there is a growing number of older adults whose fixed income has been seriously affected by inflation. As a result, all of these folks are finding it increasingly difficult to put food on the table. Often we see people on street corners and intersections asking for donations. As sincere as some may be, one is not always certain where donations to such individuals may go. Therefore programs like ours offer a real alternative. Those coming to our food distribution are not getting cash but real food that can fill empty stomachs. We have been a partner with the San Diego Food Bank for over four years. Part of the food comes from the San Diego Food Bank Emergency Food Assistance Program (EFAP), but we augment this with additional supplies that we purchase from the Food Bank. Not all needy families qualify under the income guidelines for assistance, so we have been purchasing additional supplies to provide for them. The Food Bank supplies six to eight items per family per month. We supplement these items supplied by the Food Bank with additional items that we purchase. We also receive produce donations from the Backyard Produce Project
We currently provide produce, bread, canned goods, dried goods, and meat to over 250 families per month (without any bias of race, religion or gender) but with the increasing number of individuals facing economic crisis we need additional partners to meet this need. Therefore we are asking you or your business to commit either by a monthly donation or a onetime gift to partner with us in this worthy endeavor. All donations are tax deductible under the Internal Revenue Code. We are a non-profit organization and our EIN is 46-4584038. Thank you so much for your consideration of this matter. Sincerely,

This is a double “THANK YOU!” post if you can believe it. We don’t have to tell you it gets hot in Poway during the summer, but the important work of feeding our neighbors in need doesn’t stop.

We were blessed with a $10,000 grant from the Poway Community Foundation, which covered the cost of much-needed air conditioning equipment for our fridge/freezer room. Right behind them, along came the team over at Camino Air Conditioning and donated the labor to install and dial it all in.

Amazing!

There is an enormous benefit to keeping our volunteers in a safe and comfortable temperature range while working, and the equipment all functions more efficiently if the room itself isn’t roasting hot. This is HUGE!

I know we might sound like a broken record, but we could not do what we do without the big hearts and pockets of our surrounding community. Thank you so much!

For the 2nd year in a row, the Rancho Bernardo team from JPMorgan stopped by to help us manage the enormous amount of food that comes on the BIG TRUCK.

What a bunch of awesome folks!

Our EFAP distribution is a major undertaking – this year they packed up 816 bags to hand out to neighbors in need.

We are blessed with such a community! Thanks so much to the RB JPMorgan team!

We’d love to thank our February 2026 Volunteer of the Month ⭐️Tim Rogers⭐️ for his dedication and hard work – for nearly 10 years, twice a week, he’s been picking up food for our organization. We appreciate you so much!

Bob Holland is a legend here at the CFC. He’s recently retired after 15 years of consistent service and support to our team. At the young age of 95, he’s decided to put down the box cutter that’s crafted 1,000s of food boxes for our hungry neighbors. We are incredibly grateful for all his hard work and his steady presence over the years, and wish him the very best! Thank you, Bob!

We are surrounded by a community of givers – someone is always stopping by with the fruits of their labor, and we are incredibly grateful each and every time!

Members of the Poway-Penasquitos branch of the AAUW (American Association of University Women) recently came by with a ton of food AND a financial donation.

On behalf of our hungry neighbors – thank you so much!

We’d like to give thanks to the wonderful folks over at the Poway 4H Club!

After completion of a successful food drive, some members stopped by with a TON of nutritious food for our neighbors in need.

They even helped us sort and put it all in the proper spots for distribution – what a fantastic group of young people!

This is what it’s all about. Philanthropy instilled at a young age leads to a greater society for everyone!
