✊ Our Labor, Our Rights: Bargaining Kickoff Rally!

It’s time to turn up the volume. As Academic Student Employees, we are the backbone of this university’s research and teaching, yet too many of us are facing dropping funding, excessive workloads, and threats to our basic safety and dignity.

From addressing LGBTQ+ and gender discrimination to fighting back against sexual harassment and faculty intimidation, UAW 4591 has proven that we win when we stand together. We’ve seen the success of our union in resolving civil rights cases that the university ignored—now, we’re taking that energy to the bargaining table.

Why Your Presence Matters:

🫱🏽‍🫲🏾 Safety in Solidarity: For our international students and those feeling vulnerable in the current political climate: The union is your shield!! There is safety in numbers that no individual can achieve alone.

🫂 A United Front: We are joining forces with GPSA to show WSU administration that student government and labor are standing shoulder-to-shoulder.

💯 Total Accountability: We aren’t just asking for a contract; we are demanding a campus free from discrimination and exploitation.

🗣️ When we show up together, they cannot look away!

Upcoming GPSA Annual Survey – Your Voice Matters!

The GPSA Annual Graduate & Professional Student Survey will be launching next week, and we want to make sure you’re ready to share your experiences.

This survey is an important opportunity for graduate and professional students across the university to reflect on key areas such as housing, funding, food access, healthcare, and overall student life. Your responses directly inform how GPSA advocates for resources, policy changes, and improvements that impact our community.

We know your time is valuable, and we are working to make this survey as meaningful and impactful as possible. Your voice plays a critical role in helping us better understand student needs and push for real change.

The survey will open on April 22–23, so please keep an eye out and plan to participate.

Thank you for being part of this effort.

Best,
GPSA University & Student Affairs Committee
