At the AFPC, Morgan Atis and her team within the Civilian Talent Readiness Directorate noticed everyday pain points managing 20 different spreadsheets and legacy databases. Instead of waiting for an outside solution, they rolled up their sleeves.
Using training provided through Digital University and tools within the DAF 365 environment, they spent four months building myCSA—an in-house application that connects requirements, streamlines funding ex*****on, and delivers real-time data to senior leaders forecasting force end-strength.
The best part? They did it for free, on time, and completely self-taught.
"If every one of us can take the mindset of 'don't wait for permission to innovate'—don't wait for permission to see what you can change within your organization," says Atis.
