🔥 Burn Ban – Acadia Parish 🔥

Beau Petitjean, Police Jury President, has issued a burn ban due to ongoing dry conditions affecting the parish and surrounding areas.

🚫 NO outdoor burning of trash, leaves, or debris
✅ BBQs allowed only if attended and fully extinguished
⚠️ Dry conditions increase the danger

This burn ban will remain in effect until further notice and will be lifted only when conditions improve. Following it helps protect our homes, property, and the firefighters who serve our community.

Our thoughts and prayers are with the Begnaud family as they mourn the loss of Mrs. Eilean Begnaud.

Eilean is the wife of Mire Firefighter Marcus Begnaud and was a big supporter of the fire department and the community events that we hosted.

Mire Fire leaves with 2nd Place at Erath’s Annual Water Fights!! Our guys held up til the very end. Good job to our team. Congratulations to Erath Fire on the big win.

Next weekend, our Firefighters will return to the Erath 4th of July Fire Department Water Fights to defend our title and add another win to the trophy.

Recently, Fire Chief Shannon Richard and President Allyson Allen were presented a check from Slemco after being announced as one of the winners of Slemco's first ever First Responder Grants Program.

These funds will be utilized towards the purchase of new turnout gear.

We would like to thank SLEMCO and all those who voted for our department to be one of the recipients.

Drumroll, please.....Announcing our first-ever, customer selected, Operation Round Up grants for first responder organizations in Acadiana. Each of the first responder organizations listed here will receive grants of up to $10,000 for equipment they need to help keep Acadiana and themselves safe during and after emergencies. Help us congratulate each of them! Thank you to the thousands of SLEMCO customers who voluntarily fund Operation Round Up each month by rounding their electric bills up to the nearest dollar.
