🔥 BURN BAN – ACADIA PARISH 🔥

Beau Petitjean, Police Jury President, has issued a burn ban due to ongoing dry conditions affecting Acadia Parish and surrounding areas.

🌬️ FIRE WEATHER UPDATE – NWS LAKE CHARLES
-Dry conditions, low humidity, and gusty winds increase fire danger.
-Fires can spread rapidly under these conditions.
-Avoid activities that could create sparks and start a fire.

🚫 NO outdoor burning of trash, leaves, or debris.
✅ BBQ SAFETY: BBQs are allowed only if done safely. Never leave them unattended, and make sure fires are completely extinguished with water when finished.
⚠️ Fire danger remains high. Following the burn ban helps protect our homes, property, land, and the firefighters who serve our community.

🚒 The burn ban remains in effect until further notice and will be lifted when conditions improve.

👨‍🚒 Questions or need more information? Contact your district fire chief.

📢 Updates will be shared as conditions change.

Thank you for your cooperation and commitment to keeping Acadia Parish safe! 🔥

Fire Prevention Education at Mire Elementary today

10/06/2026

Our firefighters recently participated in “When Hydraulics Go Down” training hosted by Andrew Degenhardt with FETA.

This training focused on alternative methods and techniques for vehicle extrication in the event our hydraulic rescue tools fail or become unavailable. Preparing for these situations ensures our firefighters are equipped with the knowledge and skills necessary to overcome challenges and continue providing effective emergency response.

We appreciate Andrew Degenhardt and FETA for providing this valuable training to our firefighters.

Thanks to Cliff's Towing for providing the vehicle for training
