Thursday September 10, the Ridgefield Park Public Library held an art exhibit and fundraiser. This was a solo showing for Ridgefield Park resident Ms. Theresa Troise Heidel. This featured a wide variety of watercolor paints with themes ranging from Still Life, Landscapes, along with Holiday and Beach scenes.
This event was presented by the Friends of the Ridgefield Park Library and was held in the main reading room. Over 60 people came to view the works of arts and support a local Artist. Through-out the evening the attendees looked at the painting, shared their thoughts with others, and talked with Ms. Heidel about her inspiration of some paintings. There was also time to have a conversation with Theresa, and others just for fun.
As the evening continued a number of paintings were bought. Some were larger framed painting, along with smaller matted works.
50% of the sale price will go to support programs of the Ridgefield Park Public Library.
The exhibition will continue until Wednesday September 30 during regular business hours. The library is located at 107 Cedar St. in Ridgefield Park NJ. Hours are Monday to Thursday 9:30a to 8:00p, Friday 9:30a to 5:30p and Saturday 9:30 to 1:00p.

Results for Ridgefield Park Scarlets Varsity Sports from Mon Sept 14.
The Lady Volleyball Scarlets traveled to Bergenfield to play the Lady Bears. Bergenfield needed extra points to win the first set by the score of 27-25. Ridgefield Park would tie the match by winning the second set 25-20. The Lady Scarlets then won the third set 25-21 for a 2 to 1 Match victory.
Sophie Orengo recorded a team and career high with 10 Kills. Ms. Orengo and Reggie Sasuman had 3 Aces each. Isabella Montero scored a match high with 15 Digs and a team high with 23 Assists. They now have a record of 2-2. Their next match is Wed Sept.19 hosting Ft. Lee in the Bell Gym with a 4:00p start.
The Lady Soccer Scarlets played at Cliffside Park against the Lady Red Raiders. Ridgefield Park scored two goals in the first half, and a third goal in the second half to earn a 3 to 1 road win.
Sophia Russo recorded two Goals with Edelyn Garcia netting one Goal. Maria Barros Garcia finished with two Assist, and Stella DeAngelus had one Assist.
Adrianna Garcia made 17 Saves for the win.
They are now 2-0, with their next game on Wed. Sept 16 at Dumont with a 7:00p kickoff.
The Men's Soccer Scarlets hosted the Cliffside Park Red Raiders in Biggs Stadium. Cliffside Park scored on a Corner Kick from the left side. This took place in the 4th minute. A second Corner Kick, but from the right side found the back of the net in the 20th minute. Just under 3 minutes left in the half the Red Raiders scored their third goal of the game.
After the restart Cliffside Park scored twice in the first 5 minutes and left with a 5 to 0 road win.
Jeremiah Rementilla made 9 Save for Ridgefield Park. They are now 0-4, and next play on Wed. Sept 16 hosting Dumont with a 4:00p kickoff.

Thursday September 10, the Art Mora Gallery, in Ridgefield Park, held an opening night reception for their newest gallery show. This featured paintings by Hayoung Jung in a solo exhibition of her work titled "A Story Destined to Shine"
"These works begin between the familiar and the unfamiliar. Growing from emotions and relationships formed through Yesterday and Today." Her paintings allow for personal memory and emotion to enter. She feels the paintings create a pause to continue to move forward, slowly, gently and with hope.
All the works are created with Oil on canvas.
This show will continue until Tuesday October 6 at the Art Mora Gallery that is located at 173 Main St Ridgefield Park NJ. Viewing hours are Wednesday to Saturday from 2:00p to 6:00p.

Results from Ridgefield Park Varsity Sports from Fri Sept 11.
The Lady Volleyball Scarlets hosted the New Milford Lady Knights in the Bell Gym. New Milford would win the match by a score of 2-0 (25-23: 25-14). Ridgefield Park's record is now 1-2. Their next match is Mon Sept 14 when they travel to Bergenfield with a first serve at 4:00p.
The Football Scarlets would have their Home opening game for the 2026 season in Biggs Stadium.
They took on the Dwight-Morrow Maroon Raiders.
Ridgefield Park scored first in the opening quarter with a 16-yard Touchdown by Jalexander Pimentel. Matthew Hernandez converted the extra kick to give the Scarlets a 7-0 lead. In the second 12 minutes the Maroon Raiders' Robert Banks ran down the right side 40 yard for the major score. The Scarlets' defense stopped the two point conversion, and the half ended with a 7 to 6 Ridgefield Park advantage.
Under two minutes into the fourth quarter, Dwight-Morrow pulled ahead when Kaseem Erskine found Sean Merritt for a 43-yard Touchdown pass. Ridgefield Park again stopped the Points After Touchdown to make the score 12-7 in favor of the Visitors. The Scarlets responded by using the next possession to move down the field, with Jalexander Pimentel staying on his feet and traveling 50 yards down the left sideline for his second touchdown of the game. The extra point was unsuccessful, with Ridgefield Park regaining the lead 13 to 12.
With 2:15 left in the quarter Mr. Pimentel would take a 35-yard run down the right sideline to make the last Touchdown of the evening. Matthew Hernandez again made the extra point, giving the Scarlets a 20 to 12 lead, which was the final score.
Jalexander Pimentel had a game, and career highs with 168 rushing yards and 3 Touchdowns. Peyton Thompson and Carlos Hidalgo both recorded team highs with 9 Tackles each.
The Scarlets are now 2-0. They next play on Friday September 18 in Northern Valley at Demarest with a 6:00p kickoff.

Fri Sept 11 2026 the Village of Ridgefield Park’s Volunteer Fire Dept held a remembrance service to mark the 25th anniversary of the attacks on September 11th, 2001. This was held at the Firefighter Memorial on Euclid Ave at Cedar St. It was attended by over 100 Citizens, along with uniformed members of the Ridgefield Park Volunteer Fire Dept, the Ridgefield Park Police Dept, and Officers from New York City.
The service began with Officer John Malool calling the Department to order for the National Anthem then introduced Deacon Victor Conversano of St. Francis Church to give the Invocation.
Then Assistant Chief Jacob Zardoya said the importances of sharing the experience of that day with others as this event is becoming a part of history.
Next Mayor Mr. Adam MacNeill spoke about how that day changed the nation. To not only think about how those victims died, but to remember how they lived. Along with teaching the next Generation that Service, Kindness, and supporting one another matters. This was followed by Officer Malool calling for the bell to be rung to remember the 2,977 victims from that day.
Officer Malool listed the 343 New York Firefighters and 1 New York Fire Patrol, 23 officers of the New York Police Dept. The 37 officers of the Port Authority Police Dept. The 8 Emergency Medical Technicians and Paramedics. The passengers and crew of flight 11, flight 175, flight 77, flight 93. Along with those lost at the attack on the Pentagon. Also included, from Ridgefield Park, Mr. Michael Zinzi, and FBI Agent Leonard Hatton Jr on Sept. 11. Officer Gerard Cummiskey and Officer Harry Grave, both Volunteers of the Ridgefield Park Fire Dept. who succumbed to Sept 11 illness.
For groups listed fellow Officers, Village Commissioners, and Family members took turns ringing the bell to honor the lives lost that day.
After a Benediction by Deacon Conversano, Officer Malool called the Dept to order for the playing of taps.
The Ridgefield Park Volunteer Fire Dept is accepting applications for new members. Anyone between 18-41 years of age can join the Dept. For information, please visit a local Fire Houses or by calling 201-641-5088

On Wednesday September 9, the Ridgefield Park Lady Volleyball Scarlets hosted the Lady Broncos from Pascack Hill in the Bell Gym.
Ridgefield Park opened the match and served first, but the Lady Broncos scored the first two points. The visitors use long scoring runs to take control of the match. This would be aided by a service run by Melis Ture. The Lady Broncos won the set by a 25 to 8 score.
Pascack Hills served first in the second set and led by a score of 2 to 0. Soon Lady Scarlets' Isabella Vargas served her team to a 6 to 4 advantage. The Lady Broncos retook the lead and moved on to win the set by a score of 25 to 14 for a 2-0 Match win.
Sophie Orengo scored a team high with 3 Kills. Isabella Montero had a team high with 4 Assist. Alea Jaworowski recorded a match high with 9 Digs
Pascack Hills' Elise Del Rosario had a match high with 9 Kills. Sophia Kell recorded a match high with 15 Assists, and Dalia Shoran led all servers with 6 Aces.

On Wednesday September 9 the Ridgefield Park Soccer Scarlets played those from Dwight -Morrow.
The Men's team traveled to Dwight-Morrow to play the Maroon Raiders. The home team won the game with a goal in the first overtime, by the score of 1-0. Ridgefield Park's record is now 0-3. They next play on Monday September 14 against Cliffside Park. This will be their Home Opener in Biggs Stadium with a 4:00p Kick-off.
The Lady Scarlets held their Home Opener for the 2026 season, after the original date was canceled due to weather conditions. They hosted the Lady Maroon Raiders in Biggs Stadium. The Visitors would open the scoring in the 4th minute of the first half with a goal by Britney Rozsalyi. Ridgefield Park's Sophia Russo tied the game at 1-1. The teams again traded goals and the half ended with the score of 2 to 2. With Maria Garcia scoring to tie the contest.
In the 24th minute, after the restart, Ms. Russo scored her second goal of the game to give the Lady Scarlets their first lead. Four minutes after that Stella DeAngelus doubled the advantage by connecting on a Penalty Kick. The final goal of the game was Sheena Castillo heading in a Corner Kick from the right side with three minutes left to give the Lady Scarlets a 5 to 2 home win.
Lady Scarlets’ Sophia Russo scored two goals for a total of four points. Stella DeAngelus also recorded 4 Points with a Goal and 2 Assists; Adrianna Garcia made 20 Saves.
Ridgefield Park’s record is now 1-0.
They next play on Saturday September 12 when they host Ft. Lee with the Kick-off at 10:00a in Biggs Stadium.
