FIELD DEMONSTRATIONS
Build a Birdhouse–Nail pre-cut lumber together to construct a birdhouse.
Archery Range–Shoot bows and arrows at full body animal targets and then challenge your skills by shooting and popping balloons.
Trail Essentials–Personalize your own walking stick.
Air Rifle Target Shoot–Learn to safely handle a firearm and then practice your target shooting skills.
Tasty Treat –Enjoy a tasty meal courtesy of the Douglas Sportsmen’s Club.

5:30 –8pm Station Rotations
Location:Audubon National Wildlife Refuge
(3 miles N. of Coleharbor on Hwy 83 and then 1 mile E.)
Sponsors: Audubon Refuge Partners, Inc., Douglas Sportsmen’s Club, U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service.
There is no charge for this event. Pre-registration is not required. In case of rainy weather, event will be postponed or canceled. For more information, please call 701/442-5474 ext. 124.

Derrick Haniford , a retired Navy SeaBee, is a volunteer at the Garrison Dam NFH for the summer of 2026. We are very pleased to introduce you to Derrick. He takes good care of our guests.
Derrick is also a father of an amazing daughter, grandfather of 2 wonderful grandchildren and he lives with Linus & Lucy (Australian Shepherd & Bernese Mountain Dog mix).
Derrick likes to travel the country, meeting new friends, learning about different cultures, experiencing different adventures and seeing things on his bucket list. He is also a retired photographer and has recently published 5 books. He also loves to cook, fish , explore, learn and read.
If you are interested in meeting Derrick Just stop by the hatchery. Guided Tours are at 1:00 pm Monday-Friday
