Congratulations to Tara aka “Bam” on finishing the North Country Trail! She still has a section at the Boundary Waters to complete due to the wildfire but we are still celebrating with her! Way to go Tara!

Summer isn’t over just yet! The Concession Store at Lake Sakakawea State Park will be open Thursday through Sunday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. through Sept. 6.

The store will also be open Labor Day, Monday, Sept. 7, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. for our final day of the season.

Stretch summer a little longer, head to the lake and stop by the Concession Store while you’re here. We hope to see you soon!

Due to installation issues with our contractor, our fuel pumps are currently down at the park. Please fill before you hit the lake or cruise over to Indian Hills or Dakota Waters to fuel on the water. We apologize for any inconvenience this causes.

LAKE SHORE STORE
Our new Lake Shore Store is now open! Stop in for refreshments, snacks, ice cream, and other convenience items throughout your stay.

Store Hours
July 3–4 (Friday–Saturday): 8:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m.
July 5 (Sunday): 8:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.
July 6–9 (Monday–Thursday): 10:00 a.m. – 5:30 p.m.

MARINA FUEL
Marina fuel is available during Lake Shore Store operating hours.

Please Note: Credit card payment at the fuel pump will be available soon. Installation is scheduled to be completed following the Fourth of July holiday.

Reminder: Fireworks of any kind are prohibited in all North Dakota State Parks. Thank you for helping us keep our parks safe for everyone.

Reminder for everyone as they are preparing for the holiday weekend. Thank you for keeping our park safe and enjoyable for everyone. We can't wait to celebrate Independence Day with you!

Roscoe has a friendly reminder: Fireworks of any kind, including sparklers, firecrackers, and snaps, are not allowed in North Dakota State Parks.

While they may be part of the holiday fun, fireworks can spark wildfires, disturb wildlife, and disrupt the park experience for others.

We appreciate your help in keeping our parks safe and enjoyable for all!

We’re ready for another great summer at Lake Sakakawea State Park and excited to open the brand-new Lake Shore Store tomorrow, May 22! Stop in for permits, ice, firewood, refreshments, snacks, ice cream, apparel and more. As we continue hiring and onboarding new team members, additional menu items and services will be added throughout the season.

Store & Marina Fuel Hours for this weekend:
Friday–Sunday | 10:30 a.m. – 5:30 p.m.

Comfort stations will be open, water is on, boat ramps and fish cleaning stations are open, and docks are in and ready for the weekend ahead. Thank you to our team for all their hard work!

Lake Sakakawea State Park is seeking a full-time Park Ranger to join our team. This role blends facility maintenance, visitor assistance, rule enforcement, and team support to ensure a high-quality experience for all.

We’re seeking a service-driven individual with a passion for environmental stewardship and the ability to manage daily operations, support staff, and engage the public.

On-site housing is provided with this position, and the Park Ranger is expected to reside within the park while on call or duty to support operations.
