The Gates PD honor guard was honored to be apart of the Town of Gates Memorial Day Celebration.

Today we remember all of those who paid the ultimate sacrifice in service to our nation such as Gates resident Army Staff Sergeant Nekel Allen who passed away September 12 2009 in the Shahr District of Afghanistan during Operation Enduring Freedom.

This morning we partnered with our local emergency service partners Gates Fire District Headquarters Gates Volunteer Ambulance Service, Inc. along with Gates Towing and Diponzio's Funeral Home to present to the senior class on the dangers of driving while high / intoxicated. With prom season in full swing it is always good to remind our teens of the dangers of drinking and driving, va**ng and driving and texting while driving. All of these can lead to serious consequences.
