We had a big evening Monday at the Gates Town Board meeting.

First we recognized the hard work of our volunteer Town of Gates Special Police members. Recently (3) members of our Special Police were hired full-time for Law Enforcement positions. SPO Jermaine Marks was hired by the Monroe County Sheriffs Office and is currently in the jail bureau academy. SPO Stephen Bow was hired by the Monroe County Sheriffs Office and is in the road patrol academy. And at this meeting we officially hired SPO McKenzie who is attending the road patrol academy.

Second we honored SPO Sergeant Mic Silivestro. Sgt Silivestro has served the Town of Gates Special Police for over 25 years. Sgt Silivestro has dedicated many volunteer hours assisting the residents of Gates. Sgt Silivestro has come in to assist with traffic problems, weather related issues, animal incidents and many other requests. He has been available 24hours a day for a long time. Part of his duties include training the new Special Police Officers. As it shows above Sgt Silivestro has developed some fine recruits for many law enforcement roles. Congrats Sgt Mic!

And Finally, we were able to sear Recruit Officer Aidan McKenzie into the Gates police Department. McKenzie is currently enrolled in the academy here in Monroe County and will be out on the road this fall.
