If we were to participate in the Romulus Parade of Lights on September 18th, who would be interested in participating? The only rule we have is we have to be lit up (by lights/glowsticks)

These can be graduates from adult ed or students currently enrolled.

All entries MUST be decorated with an abundance of working lights. No entries will be allowed to participate without an abundance of lights. Thousands of younger Michigan residents will soon be eligible to attend community college tuition-free under an expansion of the state’s Michigan Reconnect program.
Beginning this fall, Michigan residents ages 21 to 24 can qualify for Michigan Reconnect. The program was previously open to residents 25 and older.
The expansion was included in Michigan’s latest state budget. The state says an updated application for residents ages 21–24 will be available in time to enroll for the fall semester. (Michigan)
Who qualifies?
To receive Michigan Reconnect, students generally must:
• Be at least 21 years old
• Have lived in Michigan for at least one year
• Have a high school diploma, GED or equivalent
• Not already have an associate or bachelor’s degree
• Complete the FAFSA
• Enroll in an eligible associate degree or skills certificate program
What does it pay for?
For students attending their in-district community college, Michigan Reconnect covers tuition and mandatory fees after other financial aid is applied.
Students attending a college outside their district may still receive assistance but could be responsible for the difference between in-district and out-of-district tuition. (Michigan)

Michigan Reconnect is accepted at all of Michigan’s public community colleges, including:
• Henry Ford College
• Macomb Community College
• Oakland Community College
• Schoolcraft College
• Washtenaw Community College
• Wayne County Community College District
• Monroe County Community College
The state says all 28 public community colleges and two Tribal colleges in Michigan participate in Michigan Reconnect. (Michigan)
Students must apply for Michigan Reconnect, apply to a participating college and complete the FAFSA before enrolling in an eligible program.

Adult Ed students help us in raffle sales! We are raising money for Romulus Community Schools athletic department and RVLC, which is the alternative ed for the middle and high school. Tickets are only $10 and the 3 raffles are for a Blackstone grill, 85in SmartTV or a Yeti cooler filled with premium adult "beverages". I can deliver tickets to you or we will be in the office M-F 7am-2pm

Hello new July students! Yesterday Theo emailed you your new school email address and password! If you loaned a chromebook out, this is what will get you into that chromebook.
When it comes to starting classes please give your teachers till the end of the week to reach out to you about classes. They may reach out by phone call, text, personal or new school email. Each teacher has their own ways so be on the look out. If you dont hear from your teacher by Friday afternoon then please get a hold of us to let us know.

Our yearly Birdies Fore Eagles fundraiser is upon us!
This year the funds will be going to RVLC and Athletics.
RVLC (Romulus Virtual Learning Center), is our alternative program for middle and high school. We do not give up on our students so this funding will help with supplies, room improvements, field trips, among other things.
The RCS athletic department is looking to expand sports into elementary schools, and to upgrade equipment.
Any donation helps tremendously because it all adds up, and if you cant donate, a simple share of this post is a big help.
