A Winter Safety Message from Zia Natural Gas
Colder weather means it’s time to keep a close eye on your pipes. Frozen pipes can burst and cause major damage — and we want all our customers to stay safe.
To help prevent freezing:
▪️ Insulate exposed pipes
▪️ Let faucets drip during hard freezes
▪️ Keep cabinet doors open to warm indoor plumbing
If your pipes do freeze and repairs require digging, please remember to Call 811 Before You Dig.
This free service ensures all underground utility lines—including natural gas—are properly marked to keep you and your home safe.

A big shoutout to Zia Natural Gas – Ruidoso for stepping up and helping pack food boxes for Santa’s Helpers this year! Your willingness to give your time and energy means so much to our community.
This year is the largest Santa’s Helpers has ever taken on:
🎁 Over 750 food boxes going out to seniors and families who need a little extra help during Christmas.
🎄 Over 500 family gift bags filled with toys, clothes, and essentials for children right here in our community.
But it’s important to remember that Santa’s Helpers doesn’t just show up at Christmas—they support our community all year long. They donate to local food banks, help with Backpacks for Kids, and contribute to many other local programs that keep families fed, supported, and cared for throughout the year.
None of this happens without the generosity of local businesses and volunteers. Whether it’s monetary donations or hands-on help, every bit truly makes a difference. Jeanne Dempster works tirelessly to make sure families in Lincoln County feel supported and seen—but she can’t do it alone.
If your business or organization can contribute in any way, big or small, now is the perfect time. Let’s continue coming together to make this holiday season—and every season—a little brighter for the people who need it most.
