Following severe weather, it's common to see contractors, and cleanup crews in the area. While many are legitimate, scammers often take advantage of storm damage by targeting homeowners when they're most vulnerable.
Protect yourself by remembering these tips:
🛠️ Research contractors before hiring them and get written estimates.
🪪 Ask for identification from anyone claiming to represent a government agency, utility company, or repair service.
💳 Never pay with gift cards, wire transfers, or cryptocurrency, and be cautious of anyone requesting a large upfront payment.
⏳ Be wary of anyone pressuring you to make an immediate decision or claiming the offer is "today only."
❤️ If you're donating to storm relief efforts, verify the charity before giving.

🏁 THE WAIT IS OVER — OUR EVENT LAYOUT IS HERE! 🏁

We know you’ve been asking, and it’s finally time to start planning your race weekend! 🚤💨 Here’s what you need to know for the Sandy Beach Hydro Regatta:

🏁 RACING: The majority of the action will take place on our Main Race Course along the South Bank.

🚤 WATCH FROM THE WATER: Boaters are welcome! Anchor beyond the spectator safety buoys and enjoy the racing right from the lake.

🚧 ROAD CLOSURE & EVENT ACCESS: SR 366 will be closed from SR 235 to Township Road 239. Please plan to enter the event from the east side of SR 366 via Paradise Island/Indian Head.
Pedestrian access from SR 235 will NOT be available due to the Hot Pit Safety Zone, so please plan your arrival accordingly.

🚗 PARKING: Event parking will be available along the shoulder on the far side of SR 366. Follow event signage and directions from our parking crew when you arrive.

🍔🍺 FOOD & DRINKS: Come hungry! We’ll have food trucks and the Beer Garden on-site throughout the weekend located near the “main race course.”

🪑 SHORELINE VIEWING: Bring your chairs, find your spot along the shoreline, and settle in for a day of hydroplane racing on Indian Lake!

Well, after tracking the weather all day, and hoping it would push further south, we're going to have to accept mother nature had different plans. Our "Slide into the School Year Safely" event is unfortunately CANCELLED.
