Starting October 6, 2026, Gender Health Center is making rapid HIV and Hepatitis C (HCV) testing a more consistent, accessible part of our regular community care.

Every Tuesday and Thursday, rapid HIV and HCV testing will be available from 10 AM–4 PM.

Today, the Gender Health Center recognizes National HIV/AIDS and Aging Awareness Day!

Advances in HIV treatment have made it possible for people to live long, healthy and fulfilling lives with HIV. However, as people age, they may face unique health and social challenges that require continued care, support, and understanding. The Gender Health Center remains committed to promoting access to testing, treatment, compassionate care, and support at every stage of your life.

Pull up a chair. Let’s talk about. Black health, Black bodies & Black wellness. All allies, advocates, and beloveds are invited to attend.

Join us tomorrow, Wednesday, September 16, 2026, as we kick off GHC’s Program: Kitchen Table Conversations Series, moderated by Flo (they/them), GHC’s Counseling Program Manager, and Sam (he/him), GHC’s Social Work Trainee.

We’re bringing conversations about high blood pressure, diabetes, HIV prevention, and racial battle fatigue to the kitchen table—including how the stress of racism can show up in our bodies.

🏳️‍⚧️ We’ll also talk about caring for our health while receiving medically necessary gender-affirming hormones and what Black trans and gender-expansive folxs may want to pay attention to.

Gender Health Center strives to be a beacon of refuge amid heightened violence against members of the Sacramento 2SLGBTQI+ community. Our role in community is healing, and we know many of our community members may be scared, looking for resources, or navigating PTSD-like responses in the wake of recent assaults.

Don't hesitate to utilize GHC's drop-in counseling services and trans femme/nonbinary and trans masc/nonbinary groups. These can be good spaces to connect for individuals seeking mental health services and community. Learn more about our services at genderhealthcenter.or

Feeling overwhelmed and need to connect? Our drop-in counseling services are here for you!

You can get a drop-in appointment once a week for the same day or up to three days in advance. You will get paired with a counselor who will help guide you through brief therapy.

We cannot guarantee you will receive drop-in services from the same counselor each time. If you're looking for ongoing support, our regular counseling program has a 6-7 month wait. You can sign up for that on our website: genderhealthcenter.org/counseling.
