Scammers are using publicly available permit information to contact applicants while impersonating county staff. These fraudulent emails often come from addresses ending in .com or similar and may include an attached invoice displaying Fremont County logos. The message typically instructs recipients to wire payment for permit fees.

Fremont County will never request permit payments via wire transfer.

Fremont County is seeking applicants for internships in the GIS Department, located at 125 North Bridge Street, St. Anthony, Idaho. This position is up to 19.5 hours per week for college students who have completed basic GIS college courses. The term of the internship is flexible depending on the needs of both the intern and the County, but in no case will it exceed one year. GIS interns create data and metadata. Often, the work is digitizing data from tabular spreadsheets and other formats. For example, traffic accident reports, as-built plans, stored records, and so on. By creating metadata interns improve the database, adding important information about the nature, source, and usability of data stored on the GIS Server.

GIS interns also create maps and reports as needed. These can include planning maps, transportation maps, election maps, and more.

Projects yet to be completed include research of historic road right-of-way vacations and construction of a database with hyperlinks to maps.

The salary for this position is $12.50 per hour. The position will remain open until filled.

$17.60 per hour, 30 hrs per week, a campsite with electrical hook-up is provided. Successful candidate must provide own on-site, self-contained living accommodations (camp trailer).

Position Summary

The Frome Park Campground Host serves as the on-site representative for Fremont County Parks & Recreation at Frome Park Campground. This position helps create a safe, clean, welcoming, and well-managed campground environment for guests while assisting with routine operations, visitor communication, and basic upkeep throughout the camping season.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Serve as a visible, courteous, and helpful point of contact for campground guests. Greet visitors, answer basic questions, and provide information regarding campground rules, amenities, recreation opportunities, and nearby services. Monitor the campground daily for cleanliness, safety concerns, maintenance needs, and rule compliance. Clean and restock restrooms, pick up litter, and help maintain campsites, common areas, and other public-use spaces in a neat and orderly condition. Perform Groundskeeping duties including mowing, trimming, pruning, and other general landscape maintenance tasks. Perform light maintenance and custodial tasks, which may include sweeping, trash removal, reporting damage, and minor upkeep as assigned. Observe campsite occupancy and assist with communicating campsite procedures, quiet hours, parking expectations, and other campground policies. Promptly report emergencies, vandalism, safety hazards, maintenance issues, suspicious activity, and guest concerns to Fremont County staff or emergency services when appropriate. Assist county staff with fee collection processes, recordkeeping, occupancy checks, or other administrative support tasks as assigned. Help promote positive public relations by interacting professionally and respectfully with campers, visitors, contractors, and staff. Support opening, closing, and general seasonal campground operations as directed. Preferred Qualifications

Strong customer service and communication skills. Ability to work independently with limited day-to-day supervision. General knowledge of campground operations, outdoor recreation, custodial work, or basic maintenance is preferred. Ability to exercise sound judgment, remain calm under pressure, and handle public concerns professionally. Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation preferred. Physical Requirements and Working Conditions

Ability to walk the campground regularly and work outdoors in varying weather conditions. Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull routine supplies and equipment associated with campground upkeep. Ability to bend, stoop, reach, and perform light physical labor on a regular basis. Must be willing to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed during the camping season. Frome Park is a primary boating and fishing access to Henry’s Lake. Overnight camp sites are available on a first come basis and cannot be reserved. The site has a 15-day limit for campers at $15.00 per night. Successful candidate will be responsible for keeping the number of people and vehicles at, or below, site capacity. Fremont County W**d Control is accepting applications for Seasonal Sprayers for the 2026 season.

EMPLOYMENT DURATION: Positions are Seasonal. The spray season usually runs from May- November depending on weather.

PAY : $17.56 per hour

DUTY HOURS: 6:00 AM- 4:00 PM Monday thru Thursday.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: Control noxious w**ds by spraying, mechanical control methods and by the use of bio-control. Applicants must possess a current pesticide license or pass the pesticide licensing test within 30 days of hire. ATV, truck and backpack spraying experience and knowledge in use of GPS units is preferred. Mechanical knowledge is helpful.

TASKS: • Operates sprayer on public and private land such as roads sides, canal banks, range lands, and private fields. • Controls noxious w**ds without harm or destruction to adjacent vegetation. • Mixes various herbicides in the spraying units to the correct proportions for the job. • Ensures proper application records are kept of all spray jobs. • Cleans and calibrates spraying equipment. • Identifies noxious w**ds and reports locations to supervisor. • Map patches of noxious w**ds for tracking of infestations. • Performs preventative maintenance such as check fluids, tire wear, etc. • Performs other duties as assigned or needed.

Job Summary

The Fremont County Parks and Recreation Department and W**d Department are seeking a dedicated individual to serve in a full-time, year-round split position. From November through April, the employee will work for the Parks & Recreation Department as a Groomer Operator, responsible for operating over-snow grooming and snow removal equipment to maintain snowmobile trails across Fremont County. From April through the end of October, the employee will work for the W**d Department supporting noxious w**d control operations through herbicide application, mechanical control, equipment operation, and related field and shop duties.

Duties and Responsibilities Winter Season (November – April): Parks & Recreation – Groomer Operator

Operate trail grooming and maintenance equipment to maintain snowmobile trails.

Keep accurate written daily logs of equipment usage, fuel, and routes.

Assist with snow removal, shop clean up, equipment maintenance, fueling, and repairs.

Assist with trail signing, trail maintenance, and other tasks as directed.

Follow all applicable safety standards and county regulations while operating equipment.

Work may be required in adverse weather conditions, nights, weekends, and holidays.

W**d Season (April – End of October): W**d Department – W**d Sprayer

Assist the W**d Control Supervisor and Assistant Supervisor with noxious w**d control operations including assisting in on-the-job training.

Mix, load, and apply herbicides using spray equipment in accordance with labeling and applicable regulations.

Calibrate spray equipment and ensure proper operation, maintenance, and cleanliness of spray systems.

Monitor safe handling, application, storage, and disposal of chemicals and empty containers per procedures and law.

Operate county vehicles, spray rigs, and related equipment as required for assigned projects.

Assist with shop organization, parts/supplies, inventory control, and general equipment upkeep.

Educate property owners and the public on noxious w**d identification and control methods, as assigned.

Work with private property owners and other government agencies in assigned spray areas.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Essential Functions Must be able to perform all duties efficiently, accurately, and safely with or without reasonable accommodation.

Position requires climbing, balancing, pushing, pulling, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, walking, standing, lifting, and digging postholes by hand or with equipment.

Ability to lift and move items weighing 50 pounds or more.

Ability to operate or learn to operate Spray Rigs, ATV, Welding Equipment, Torch & Plasma Cutters, Shop Tools, GPS, Drones.

Compensation This is a full-time split position. Pay will be based on experience and applicable county pay scales. (pay Grade 7 Step 3 $50,256.00)
