Congratulations to POST Detention Academy #101 but especially our own Deputy Armstrong, Deputy Christensen, and Deputy Torres who all graduated today!

This accomplishment represents weeks of hard work, dedication, and commitment from them and their families. Their successful completion of POST training has equipped them with knowledge and skills that will help them excel in their chosen careers.

We are proud of each of them for reaching this milestone and for their willingness to serve Fremont County. Please join us in congratulating them and welcoming them back!

On the morning of May 20, 2026, a Fremont County Deputy conducting routine patrol operations along Highway 20 near Chester conducted a traffic stop and seized 115.4 pounds of methamphetamine, with an estimated street value exceeding $1.5 million.

The two occupants of the vehicle were taken into custody without incident and are facing felony drug trafficking charges. This seizure represents the largest methamphetamine confiscation in Idaho history.

Illegal narcotics continue to have a devastating impact on families and communities across the nation. Fremont County Sheriff’s Office remains committed to protecting the residents of Fremont County through proactive enforcement efforts and continued dedication to public safety.

Fremont County Sheriff’s Office is excited to announce we will be holding free, OHV Safety Classes throughout the summer starting June 10th, 2026!

Here are answers to some frequently asked questions-

Where is this located? Fremont County Search and Rescue Building 331 W 1 S St Anthony

What ages can attend? All ages are welcome! All attendees will need to have their own machine with a current registration sticker and protective gear ( DOT approved helmet, eye protection, gloves, long sleeved shirt and pants, and over the ankle boot.)

How long is the course? Plan on between 2-4 hours depending on class size

What is the cost? These courses are provided completely free of charge

Do I need to pre-register? No, you can attend the course that best works for you.

What machines are allowed? For this summer course, all off road vehicles excluding snowmachines or snow bikes.

We would like to recognize our wonderful EMT’s during National EMS Week. We are grateful for their dedication to all who are in need. We are incredibly lucky to work along side such selfless volunteers.

Memorial Day Weekend is usually the start to a busy Summer season, and this year seems to have started off a little early, as they have been responding non-stop all week long to calls for assistance.

Our boats are coming back out of hibernation and are ready for launch. Thank you to Ryan Thatcher with Mobile Metal Polishing for making them look brand new! We will be out this weekend and throughout the summer on our beautiful waterways.
