Good news! Three new GOEVIN charging sites are now online!

⚡️City Of Rensselaer, installed a dual-port Level 2 charging station (9.6kW) at Filson Park, located at 223 W. Kellner Blvd. Rensselaer, IN 47978. Electron Charger installed and provided the hardware/software for this station.

⚡️BMW of Schererville installed a dual-port Level 2 charging station (19.2kW) at their dealership located at 1400 US Hwy 41, Schererville, IN 46375. Installed by Continental Electric with hardware and software provided by ChargePoint.

⚡️The Northwestern Indiana Regional Planning Commission (NIRPC) installed a dual-port Level 2 charging station (7.2kW) at 6100 Southport Rd. Portage, IN 46368. Installed by Midwestern Electric, and universal wall connector hardware/software provided by Tesla.

The Indiana Department of Environmental Management (IDEM) forecast an Air Quality Action Day for Wednesday, May 27, 2026, for Northwest Indiana. Air Quality Action Days are days in which ground-level ozone and/or particulate matter are predicted to reach unhealthy levels.🌤

🔶Ozone levels are expected to be in the Unhealthy for Sensitive Groups range (Orange) in the following areas:

Northwest Indiana, including the cities of Crown Point, Gary, Hammond, Kentland, LaPorte, Michigan City, Portage, Rensselaer, Valparaiso, and all other cities within the area.

🚨New Funding Opportunity🚨

The Indiana Department of Environmental Management's Community Recycling Grant Program is open as of today!

Grant awards range from $1,000 - $100,000 with a 25% required cash match.

Eligible Applicants – Solid Waste Management Districts, Counties, Municipalities, Schools, and Nonprofit Organizations located in Indiana.

Projects that can be funded under this program include:

♻Education and promotion of recycling
♻Source reduction
♻Organics management (including yard waste management and composting)
♻Household hazardous waste (HHW) collection and disposal.

Applications close for the funding round on Thursday, June 18.

We had a wonderful, sunny day at the Illinois Alliance for Clean Transportation's Green Drives Conference today. It was great to learn about some of the latest alternative fuel technologies alongside old and new friends.

Drive Clean Indiana member, Orange EV, even had their EV terminal tractor on display!
