Women Winning

Women Winning We’ve endorsed and elected thousands of candidates, tripling the number of pro-choice women holding elected office in Minnesota.

Changing the face of power by activating pro-choice campaigns, candidates, and elected officials committed to reproductive health, rights and justice working to protect the safety, dignity and bodily autonomy of Minnesotans 2018 marked the beginning of a new era of pro-choice women’s leadership, but in both Minnesota and Washington D.C., women are still significantly underrepresented at the tables

of power. With emboldened threats to reproductive rights at all levels of government, it is more important than ever that pro-choice women run for -- and win -- elected office. Since 1982, Women Winning has been building a coalition of people of all backgrounds, gender identities, and political affiliations united in our mission to recruit, train, and elect pro-choice women to all levels of public office -- from park board to President of the United States. Pro-choice women continue to step up to run for office and Women Winning will be with them at every step on the campaign trail in 2019, 2020, and beyond.

May 17th marks international day against homophobia, biphobia, and transphobia.

We are proud to stand with our 2SLGBTQIA+ community members and are adamant that hate will not be tolerated here at Women Winning.

We are honored to work alongside—and endorse—gay, trans, and bi pro-choice women across Minnesota who are fighting for a more just and inclusive future. Together, we are working to protect the safety, dignity, and bodily autonomy of all Minnesotans.

Happy !

For 44 years, Women Winning’s Annual Luncheon has been more than just an event — it’s been a gathering place for community, courage, and collective action.

Year after year, supporters, candidates, advocates, and leaders have come together to invest in a future where women’s voices are heard, valued, and represented at every level of leadership. This luncheon has helped inspire women to run for office, strengthened our movement, and sustained the work of electing and supporting pro-choice women across Minnesota for decades.

As we look back on the generations of leaders and changemakers who have filled these rooms before us, we’re reminded that this work has always been powered by people who believe in building a more equitable future together.

We’re honored to continue that tradition at our 44th Annual Luncheon on Monday, June 8th featuring keynote speaker Stacey Abrams.

Today on International Nurses Day, we’re celebrating the compassion, strength, and dedication of nurses everywhere. 💐🩺🩷

We’re especially grateful for the nurses working in abortion clinics and OB-GYN offices—providing essential care, offering comfort without judgment, and standing alongside women in some of the most personal and important moments of their lives.

Your work makes healthcare more humane, more accessible, and more just. Thank you for showing up every day for women.

May 11th marks 168 years of Minnesota statehood—a moment to celebrate the places that define who we are and the leaders who fight to protect them.

Our above graphic highlights the Boundary Waters and a Loon, our Minnesota State Bird. The Boundary Waters Area is one of Minnesota’s most treasured landscapes, a place of reflection, recreation, and natural beauty that belongs to all of us. Today, it faces serious risk after federal protections were stripped away.

We’re proud to stand with leaders like US Senator Tina Smith, who spoke for nearly five hours on the Senate floor to defend these public lands and uphold the laws meant to protect them. Her determination reflects the kind of leadership Minnesotans deserve—grounded, relentless, and deeply committed to our shared future.

At Women Winning, we are honored to support fierce champions who show up, speak out, and fight for Minnesota’s people and places—today and every day.

Happy Mother’s Day from all of us at Women Winning!

Today, we celebrate the mothers, grandmothers, caregivers, and all those who nurture our families and communities. Their strength, resilience, and leadership inspire us every day to keep fighting for a future where all communities can thrive!

To the moms running for office, raising future leaders, and building a better world — thank you!

We are ONE MONTH AWAY from our 44th Annual Luncheon! As the countdown continues, our anticipation in the office keeps building.

This year, our community has faced unprecedented challenges. We have witnessed attacks on our rights, our neighbors taken from their homes, children harmed in spaces meant to keep them safe, and the tragic impacts of political violence across our state—losses that have shaken our communities and reminded us how much leadership and strength matter.

This Luncheon is where we come together to honor courageous leaders and reaffirm our commitment to a future rooted in justice, safety, and dignity. Even in the face of adversity, our movement endures—and it is our leaders who continue to drive that change forward.

A recent report from the Minnesota Department of Health found that maternal mortality among Native American women is 12 times higher than the statewide average. And that most of those deaths were preventable.
